The Kings hit the road after their somewhat unexpected victory over the Warriors. They're in San Antonio first, with a little side step over to Memphis, before returning to Texas to face former coach Rick Adelman and the Rockets.
It's about pride for the players now. The wins and losses aren't important; what should be important is the heart and hustle they show the rest of the year.
The Kings can play a bit of a spoiler role but only if they really concentrate on what they're doing and play good fundamental basketball. We've seen glimpses of it often enough to know they can do it; whether they will do it or not is the question.
Beno Udrih has a sore back; Miller's elbow and tailbone are less than perfect; Spencer Hawes has a foot problem; and John Salmons is dealing with some kind of ankle problem. In addition, Ron Artest seems to be dealing with a variety of problems, some of which make it day-to-day on whether or not he'll play. So we cannot be sure of who we'll see on the court but I know I want to see effort and focus and energy.
I personally like to see the Maloofs getting back to doing what they're good at - cheering on the team and orchestrating STH events. If they did more of that and less meddling in the actual basketball operations, I think it would be best for all concerned.
The game discussion thread and the PBP will be in the Kings Rap forum.
GO KINGS!!!
