Martin Fined $7,500 for Verbally Abusing Officials

NEW YORK (April 12) - Kenyon Martin of the Denver Nuggets was fined $7,500 Tuesday by the NBA for verbally abusing officials and failing to leave the court in a timely manner after his ejection against Golden State.

Martin was ejected early in the third quarter Monday night for shoving the Warriors' Adonal Foyle, drawing his second technical foul of the game.

Martin received his first technical midway through the second quarter for throwing his mouthpiece in the air after being called for a foul.

After the second technical, Martin yelled at official Rodney Mott for a few seconds, then ripped off his jersey and tossed it to the crowd as he left the floor. Martin also tore off the tank top he was wearing under his jersey and disgustedly threw that into the crowd.

When you are a second tier school (3rd ifwe are going to actualy discuss academics) you have to start with socialy desireable raw material to compeet with the top tier... trust me years of contact with Fresno State has taught me lots!

I remember a series on the FSU team a few years back. One of them that I remembered practically needed remedial English and had a full-time tutor to help him with his homework (and he acted like an ignorant *** while working with said tutor and in class). I'm sure a professor likes having a fool in his class who really has no business being there.
 
martin is the truth!!!!!!!! i seen him throw down some nasty dunks! DONT HATE :)

on his second technical i didnt even see him say or do anything....... but you never know what he could have said prior or maybe while the camera wasnt on him........
 
well he really does look like someone that would kill you if you told him "Excuse me sir... your shoelace is untied.." haha
 
I watched that game in which he got thrown out of...he got his first technical for basically thinking a foul called on him was BS...but then in the 2nd half when he got his second and then was kicked out I must have turned the channel for a sec cuz I missed it...but when I turned it back they were showing the "very slight" push in the back to Foyle that ended up getting KMart kicked out...and then he cussed the officials out and didn't leave the floor in a timely manner...

Now i LOVE Kenyon Martin...i always kinda wished we had a personality like his on this Kings team...but any you who...you could tell from the VERY beginning once he entered the game off the bench that he wasn't in the mood to be playing lets say....he already looked pretty aggravated and I actually remember saying that to myself when he first entered...as a Nuggets fan ya had to know that it was probably gonna be one of those nights...and sure enough it was...lucky for a team like the Nuggets they have plenty of other big guys that can fill in and they also know they can without him in the game...and in all actuality when KMart got kicked out I believe the Nuggets were down a point or two and that really woke them up a bit and they then started to put the smack down on the GSWs

Not too good a thing to say about your place of work. (I am guess that you do). - A concerned Fresno State Student :)

As far as Martin is concerned he is not a role model for sure, but he is a winnner. Someone like that would have helped us a lot.

Kenyon nutted up in the Finals. Cincinnati always nuts up in the Tourney. His teams were no exception.

Not dising you or anything (because I've seen some of your post and you probably don't think like this) but in that sentence you just sumed up the way how most teenaged NBA fans think today. It just made it sound like thats all they care about nasty dunks.

CSUF is a good school, but no one can argue that the schools athletic program has had more than it's fair share of problems.
 
all martin can do is run and dunk. i'd rather entrust shaq with a jump shot then him. he's one hell of a lethal finisher, but that's it. if he doesn't have someone setting him up he's lost on the court.
 
^^I don't know if id go as far to say "id rather entrust shaq with a jump shot then him" but i understand what you are saying...though like 2 weeks ago I saw him light up the Grizz with is jumpshot in the 4th quarter which was a crucial time for both teams
