My throat is still sore...

"WHOSE ON HORRY?!! WHOSE ON HORRY?!! VLADE!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!! AHHH!!!!"

I never underood why they didn't know what I knew, better to single cover Shaq than leave Horry (or any 3 point thread in the triangle) open...

Heh -- Horry has made a habit of following you around and torturing you hasn't he jacobdrj? ;)

Nobody really made a mistake, besides perhaps Vlade for tipping it out rather than grabbing it. But there is 1 second to go, everybody has to get back in there and crash those boards. It wouldn't have been quite so legendary, but if our guys had been standing around at the three point line as Shaq or Kobe grabbed the rebound for the buzzer beating tying dunk, there would have been a lot of unhappy campers (not to mention of course a fresh round of accusations of softness).

I didn't start watching basketball until the Finals in 1996, so I missed all of his early heroics. 2002 WCF was actualy the first time I saw Horry in action. I could tell just by looking at him that he was clutch, just by the way he carried himself. That was before the shot. By 2005, I already knew what he was capable of. I knew the series, no matter what, was going to have at least 1 Spur win because Horry was on their team. It was a given that he was going to go off for a game. I knew the series was in big trouble when they blew game 1. Pistons had the lead, but because of all of the sins committed the whole year, the Pistons were gassed, and it was obveous that the series was not going to go well. Didn't help that Sheed had a brain hiccup, but eithre way, it was over. I considered the Horry factor a non issue had the Pistons taken care of buisness.

For the record, I have no animosity towards Horry. I would want him on ANY team I was rooting for.
