TDOS Limerick Thread

ooooh...i'm a fan of limericks!!! mine aren't all that silly, light, or humorous...and they don't have very short line structures, so i guess they aren't really limericks. oh well...i dig the rhyme scheme...and i'm an even bigger fan of half-rhyme (less restrictive):

There's no cure for the common cancer of complacence,
So take a one-dose pill to dose once your one-track mind with patience,
A really surreal reality where you are you and they are them forever,
And they're there but their there's aren't there together.
Of course, that is neither here nor there, so here's to poetic license.

I think it's a less common form of the word "bringed."

I prefer to use "broughten" myself.

you'd think I'd think of a thing
my mind has now spotted
the use of the word 'broughted'
present-tense of which is 'broughting'

I thought of thoughts I have thought up
and bringed up things that've been brought up
we left out just one
the remaining was 'brung'
so we ought to have thought to brought 'brung' up

especially in the midst of this news drought
so to rhyme with orange
i've used a door hinge

the name came after a friend of mine
at poetry I used to be quite good
one thing however needs to be understood
after awhile I simply didn't have the time

OK, it lacks the sophistication of GGG and VF, but I'm an engineer - this left-brain stuff aint my cup-o-tea.

I think.

I always test right smack in the middle, though, so I can't remember for sure.

OK, from Wikipedia:

Reasoning functions such as language are often lateralized to the left hemisphere of the brain. Dyscalculia is a neurological syndrome associated with damage to the left temporal-parietal junction[1]. This syndrome is associated with poor number manipulation, poor mental arithmetic, and an inability to understand or apply mathematical concepts[2].

In contrast, visual and music functions such as spatial manipulation, facial perception, and artistic ability seem to be lateralized to the right hemisphere.

Other integrative functions such as intuitive or heuristic arithmetic, binaural sound localization, emotions, etc. seem to be more bilaterally controlled[3].

Doesn't sound clear-cut, as reasoning functions are left-brain, but other items like spatial manipulation are right-brain. You would think that these two would be on the same "side". Hoopsfan is probably more right than wrong, given the muddy way these things seem to divide.
