Just got a PM from VF21. TDOS begins once the Kings season ends, and this summer we need some healing R+R after that miserable dredge of a season. So to spice things up we're bringing back the Tropical/Desert Island Drafts of last year. Due to VF's request, we will need have a couple of rules though:
1. There will be a max of 3 drafts at one time. When one draft ends, the next in line can begin.
1A. No drafting until TDOS is official (April 15th). Until then we are putting together a suggestion/draft idea thread here.
2. Each draft must have its own start-up thread, and draft "coordinator" ("Commish") to oversee it (eventually, see 1A
).
3. All drafts are still subject to the rules of the board, and this is a family board so keep it clean people.
4. All drafting must take place in a timely fashion. It is up to the draft coordinators, myself, and the board moderators to keep timed out picks to a minimum, and encourage equal opportunity participation. The 24 hours per pick worked somewhat last time, but there were far too many timed out/late picks for her liking.
VF also proposed only allowing new drafts, and not old ones as it increases participation. We are suggesting topics here, and they will be posted on a Lounge "Sticky", by draft order. Let me know if you are interested in coordinating a draft (PMs work well). So far, there are some really fun ideas, and I look forward to the drafts. Go Kings!
NOTE: Actually what I - VF21 - meant was not to bump the old thread proposals but just add them to the list and then the commissioner for the thread in question can start a fresh new thread when it moves to the top of the queue.

Jespher - Congratulations! The job and awesome title are yours, along with all the burdens.
I checked with the other active mods and they agreed it made sense to have someone to kind of corral some of this stuff and since you volunteered, you were the unanimous selection.
What I'd like to see is faster picks, less dead time, etc.
I'd strongly recommend not bringing back any of the proposal threads from last year. Things change so whoever posted one of the ideas should just start a new thread for this season's drafts.
You have our support so if there are any problems you've got Brickie, Slim, Warhawk and me at your back.
