Survivor - Cook Islands

You know, they showed him at camp looking lazy and bossy, but whenever he SAID anything he always said the "right" things. I think they can capture most people looking lazy and bossy if they tried, 40 days in a camp and there will be LOTS of sitting for all but the most hyperactive.

On the other hand, I thought he seemed like an a*s during the last time he went to tribal council (to vote off the "love-bird" Billy). Who knows, it seems like the producers can make you think whatever the f* they want you to about any player.

Since this show is taped, I think the editors pick some scenes that will explain - at least in part - why the tribes voted the way they did. If they didn't show JP's arse-qualities, I think people would find it almost unbelieveable that he was voted off.

You figure they have 40 days of film to go through to glean out something less than 24 hours of material that will actually be seen.

Word is next season they are going to have one tribe of modles against a tribe of ugly people. Season after that is blind vs. wheel chairs vs hearing impared. Not sure if they still plan on having geniuses vs. stupid people.

I was looking forward to a cheerleading pyramid atop the little square for the challange. It would have been funny, and smart...

I finally watched last week's episode today, thanks to the generosity of a friend!

Tomorrow night should be very interesting. I have to wonder about allowing one team to invade the camp of another...they've never done that before. I always thought the camps were purposefully located far enough apart where that couldn't happen. I have to suspect it's going to come into play again - like one team making a night raid on the other or something. Could be different, I guess...

haha the invasion of the camp last week was weak. it turns out they live like one island apart. thats dumb....

i really can't stand cristina anymore. the sooner she is gone the better. i never did like her, last week episode made me really not like her anymore. that tribe is so stupid. they are all brawn with no brains. i really love the other tribe! they are so funky!

according to the previews for next week, both tribes have to go to TC. LAME! thats so dumb!!!! i hope ozzy doesn't get voted out, he's awesome! he's so fearless in nature, it's really enjoyable to watch. nor do i want to see the cai boi voted out. he's HILARIOUS! i'd rather watch a weirdo who's intresting then a boring silent person.

i hope tonights episode is intresting...

omg i LOVED that challenge last night! freaking awesome! i just love how the weaker team keeps on kicking the stronger teams collective ***** it's a beautiful thing to watch

i'm glad cristina went, i hated her. the gun thing on jenny's vote was weird. then again, she did draw a volleyball on JP's vote, and a potato on stephanie's vote last week. at least she cares enough about the people she is with on the island to get to know them. a badge might have been a better pic to draw, but i don't think she meant that gun in a mean way. tina was a cop, so there you go.

damn... cai boy got the boot. bummer, he was such a whacko, i loved him. i'm really starting to like ozzy for some odd reason. i really don't want ot see him go anytime soon. according to the previews his stock goes up, so thats a good sign :D

i haven't picked who i want to win yet. well i don't want adumb or pavatti winning. seriously, who the hell casted parvatti? what a waste of space she is. i guess i could root for candice to win, her facial expressions are priceless LOL. eh it'll come to me at some point.

oh, add becky to the list of "boring waste of space, please get rid of her list" i like intresting people who SAY THINGS. becky, sundra and rebecca, please get voted out ASAP

you have got to be kidding calling Parvatti dumb.

Seriously, she is one smart cookie. Watch her, she PLAYS dumb, and she flirts, but she always knows EXACTLY what is going on. Frankly, her smarts have impressed me the most of anyone this season, she is just subtle about it. (as opposed to Jonathan "Hawkeye Pierce", who bludgeons people over the head with his schemings.)

I lost all respect for Ozzy the week before the merge when he convinced his tribe to lose just to vote out the Latin Rocker. You have to connect with your allies quickly, and by voting off someone you make yourself vulnerable down the line. I think he would have been a good ally.

I like the Asian guy who won the immunity Idol the time he was on Exile Island. He is super smart, and staying way under the radar. Becky knows who coattails to ride.

So far I am enjoying the season.

EDIT: And I agree w/McSluggo. Parvati is a smart cookie. Knows how to stay in the loop with everyone. Although, if you listen closely - everyone always misprounounces her name. They always call her POVERTY!

I agree, SKFFL. Yul has been my favorite right from the beginning. I think he has the right combination of abilities, charisma, etc. to go a long way in the game.

And Parvati is far from dumb, IMHO.

I alos have an odd feeling about Jonathan, like I've seen him somewhere before. I can't place it, though, and it distracts me every single week.

He sounds EXACTLY like Hawkeye Pierce (Alan Alda). Exactly.

Hmmm. I'll have to listen for that next week. It still bugs me - I KNOW I've seen him before...

I finally did what I should have done right away and checked his bio. Here's what it says at cbs.com:

A native of New York, Jonathan Penner is an actor, having had series regular roles on "Grapevine," "The Naked Truth" and "Rude Awakening." He also made guest-starring appearances in various series including CSI and "The Nanny," both on CBS, as well as "Seinfeld" and "Arrested Development." Additionally, he is a producer/writer/director.

Penner attended the prestigious Phillips Andover prep school in Andover, Massachusetts, and went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York.

Penner enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, soccer and baseball.

He is most proud of his family and his 1994 Oscar nomination for Best Short Film, Live Action for "Down on the Waterfront" (which he co-produced, co-wrote and starred in with Jason Alexander, Ed Asner and Mike Starr). In 2000, he also won the grand prize at Cognac and the screenwriting prize at the Avignon Film Festival for "Let the Devil Wear Black."

Penner currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife of 15 years, director Stacy Title (who directed him in the 1995 film "The Last Supper"), and their two children, Cooper and Ava. They have one bunny, Angel Cake, one cat, Vinnie, and two lizards, Mozilla and Luna. His birth date is March 5, 1962.

Since I watch(ed) all of the shows bolded above, that might well be where I've seen him before.

i love ozzy! i'm rooting for him to go far. i'm not ready to declare him my hopeful to win the game, but i do hope he sticks around.

can we please get rid of the boring 3 ( becky, sundra and rebecca) hopefully rebecca is gone soon due to her pathetic showing at the reward challenge as well as her declaring that her body is done. waste of camera space IMO

yul is RIPPED!

I can't say I was too sorry to see strange girl leave. I still think Yul has the inside track, provided he can stay out of the sights and not have to use his immunity idol too soon.

I don't care for Ozzy, however. Sorry, Evenstar.

;)

Once again, VF...right on the money!

I was sorry to see Flica go since she was our hometown favorite...now what will the local news stations talk about?

And really...is she that strange? Some tattoos, a unique hairstyle, and a career in roller derby, sure, but she really never seemed to me to be that different than anyone else there. She just wasn't cut out for the game....which is not entirely surprising when you find out that she had never seen the show before! Our local TV and print media did some interviews with friends of hers and she seems like a pretty cool person...she's also multi-talented: roller derby, fire dancing, fashion design, stilt walking (which explains her great balancing skills), make-up artistry, etc.

i liked flicka a lot better when she had cowboy to be wierd with.

the title of tommorrow's episdoe is "mutiny" this should be really interesting!!

fine VF21 don't like ozzy ;) the girls would starve without him.

yul does have the inside track. he is very well spoken. i can easily see him winning if he makes it to the final 2. he's too nice to tick anyone off, he's very strong which would make him a favorite to win individual immunity. he has the idol. he's the favorite right now for sure IMO

Maybe it's just me, but that was a DUMB move by Candace and Jonathan. Why make yourself stick out? They were in no danger in their own tribe...they should have just waited until the merge to join old tribe-mates. Now they're marked by their old Aitu tribe and not fully trusted by their new tribe. Candace may survive this, but I think Jonathan made an especially bad call.

I agree. Jonathan is TOAST! Candice has Adam looking out for her, but I can see the tribemates voting him out at merge time. He and Yul will be tough to beat. I'm a little annoyed about the ethnic discussion....the four caucasians talkng about being alligned to the end. I could see this getting really stupid. One thing is for sure. While I was rooting for Raro, because they kept losing. I'm all over Aitu now after the mutiny's. Now there's four I could allign with!!

I cannot imagine what Jonathan was thinking...

I am really rooting for Aitu - they are truly a blend of personalities, cultures, etc. and they seem to want to win without some of the sleazy tactics so often exhibited on Survivor... If they can make it to the merge, I suspect they may go all the way to the final four.

aitu all the way!

believe it or not, i don't think jonathan is going anywhere for a while. i have a feeling once they merge, he is going to worm his way back into the aitu alliance and give them the majority they need to overthrow the raro's. i think he's realizing what a big mistake it was, how no one likes him at raro, so he'll do whatever he can to save his butt.

candice is TOAST. it wouldn't shock me to see the aitu's pick her off first. adumb probably won't last too long post merge, nor nate. parvati probably will stick around due to the fact that she isn't a huge threat in the challenge. i'm thinking rebecca is gone for sure due to the fact she is pretty horrendous at the challenges. jenny might also go as she was a target earlier on, and the fact that she's a bleep! she might have worn out her welcome. i have a feeling the whites will start picking off the non whites, and rebecca and jenny fit that profile.

if aitu losses immunity with the DB, then ozzy and sundra will be gone i would imagine. something tells me they don't loose. they are such a feel good story, i can't see them losing. yul/ozzy are pretty unstopable at the challenges as well.

so GO AITU!

Another great immunity challenge!

I missed the last few minutes. Who was voted out at tribal council and what was the note about?

Rebecca was voted out with Jonathon coming in a close second again. The note informed them that they had to vote out another member...right then and there. Jenny was voted out then...much to her surprise.

that rocked!

this game has gotten MUCH more interesting.... :)

suddenly Jonathan went from being Mr. Irrelevant (with one foot in the grave, and the other on a banana peel), to perhaps the linchpin, key player in the game.

Whoa…

it was pretty obvious rebecca was going. i'm shocked she lasted as long as she did. she was worthless, and a very bad cast. she brought nothing to the table.

i'm actually bummed to see jenny go. she was the closest thing to a villian. she had a little spice. ah well.

candice crying on exile island... CRY ME A FREAKING RIVER. it's called karma you idiot. personnally i hope they keep her around, and vote adumb off, keep sending her to exile island. that would be GREAT. speaking of adumb, he and candice sucking face next week? gross me out!

a 10 man jury isn't going work. my theory: the person who wins the final 3 IC will get to vote a member out of the jury or nulify one jury vote to odd things out ( heheh) if that were to occur, then the final straw on candices mutninying *** would be to vote her jury vote out, making her time in the game pointless. THAT would be ultimate payback for the mutiny.

as mean as i sound, i really don't hate candice. i jsut hate what she did. it's only fair that someone who did somehting like that be taken out. anyone who quits past the jury stage shouldn't be allowed back onto the jury. that would be another great rule.

i really want to see an ozzy/yul final 2. they clearly are the best players of the season, it would be nice to see the best 2 go up against each other instaed of one dominating person and one weakling which gives us a _ to 1 vote. another 1 vote win for the mil would be great to see. it's been a while ( thailand is the last i recall, all stars doesn't count IMO :D) i can't recall there ever being a season where the best 2 players of that season were pitted against eachother for the million dollars. bring it on!
