Holy crap. I could get out of debt.

After a bad motorcycle accident, they ran a television cable up my aorta to look for heart damage. The cardiologist told me after the procedure that he knew that I had never smoked, ever. My arteries were clean at age 55. No gunk. He said that smoking causes gunk to build-up on your arteries because the chemicals in smoke roughs up the walls of the arteries and allows gunk to adhere to the walls.

Smoking has to be bad if a surgeon can determine whether you smoke or not by looking at your blood vessels! Think what ther lungs must look like.

I think smoking may be the worst thing, normal thing, that a person can do to his or her body. I suppose that heavy alcohol or drug consumption would be similar, just different organs.

Knock it off.

6th, I'm proud of you (you too hoodie!).

A wise man once said, "You got to go through hell before you get to heaven." Steve Miller, I think.

Anyway, my dad has smoked for about 37 years now and has basically given up trying to quit. You've got to want it bad, like an NBA title. ;)

So are you feeling any healthier yet?

Actually, a little. However, it is hard to tell because I have a cold and I had oral surgery yesterday and my mouth hurts. How can you feel healthy if your mouth hurts? Blech!! :(

Oh, and thanks, Alacron........btw, my oral surgeon's name is Alcorn.

To quick dog: Yes sir!

If I've done the math right, our dear 6th should be hitting her 1 month milestone on Wednesday! I've taken the liberty of sending her a little something she should receive that day, which is from all of the KingsFans family to commemorate the occasion.
Tick, tick, tick....

Six months, two weeks, 8 hours, 11 minutes and 56 seconds. 3570 cigarettes not smoked, saving $767.74. Life saved: 1 week, 5 days, 9 hours, 30 minutes.

Hello 6th, I am Mrs. Sir Henry 8. And an ex smoker of 6 years. It has been my experience that the withdrawal or craving problem is from the lack of deep inhalation.
I suceeded in quiting by using a straw, cinnamon stick or just my fingers pressed together as if I had a cigarette in them, and inhaling like you would if you were still smoking. Our bodies become used to that and crave it. As smokers that is the only time we ever inhale deeply. So each time you get a craving, try the inhaling exercise and see if the craving passes. Good luck. And it will get easier.

My Dad smoked three packs of Chesterfields a day for 45 years. He quit smoking at age 63 when he had a heart attack. He went cold turkey. He also quit drinking alcohol, which was excessive, and reduced his coffee consumption by 10 cups per day. He lived to be 90 years old and saw a lot of grand kids, made a lot of pickles, and witnessed cool stuff in those 27 extra years.

6th and Hoodie, keep up the good work!

Listen to QD, 63 year old beloved father lives 27 more years, WOW...

Plus, has anyone told you how good you smell now???

Thanks everyone !!! The nicotine thing was suprisingly easy to get over; the oral fixation thing, I'm finding kinda rough. Found some TOBACCO FREE herb that kinda tastes like tobacco, and I'm CONSTANTLY in the fridge. Might need a new wardrobe when all is said and done.
THANKS, again, all !!!!!!!!! Keep it up 6th !!!!!

GOD BLESS !!!!!!!!!
