The Los Angeles Clippers agreed to trade Quentin Richardson to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Sebastian Telfair, Mark Madsen and Craig Smith, a league source told ESPN.com's Chad Ford on Monday.

The trade is expected to be announced later Monday after the teams complete a trade call with the league.
The trade will give the Clippers a solid backup point guard behind Baron Davis and give them some depth at the power forward position.
For the Wolves this essentially saves them some money next season and clears up a potential logjam at the point guard position. New Wolves GM David Kahn is currently in Spain trying to negotiate a buyout for Ricky Rubio. If Kahn can get an agreement, he will have both Rubio and their other lottery pick, Jonny Flynn, as the team's point guards.

There goes the most attractive destination for Beno.

Madsen spent six seasons in Minnesota. His playing time waned as his career progressed, but he remained a valued leader in the locker room.

Smith was a capable scorer off the bench for the Wolves, but the power forward had trouble getting consistent playing time behind Al Jefferson and Kevin Love.

For the Wolves, this essentially saves them some money next season and clears up a potential logjam at the point guard position. Richardson averaged 10.2 points and 4.4 rebounds last season.

I really like what the Clips are doing!!! they were the BEST... WORST team in basketball last year... (Thunder also good while being bad)

But the Clips are looking very very strong!!! look at that starting line up!!!
Camby
Griffen
Thorton
Gordon
Davis

then they got Kamen, D.Jordan, Taylor, R Davis, Telfair off the bench... not too bad

Honestly, I think LAC was out of the picture once they cleared up their logjam up front by shipping off Zach.

Of course, by adding Madsen and Smith to Griffin, Camby, Kaman and DeAndre Jordan, they're back to 6 frontline guys. Fortunately, three of them can get stiffed minutes without too much trouble.

I've always liked Craig Smith as a player (rock solid consistent offensive player who can just carve space and throw in a variety of layups around the basket), and he even scored 10 ppg in <20 mpg last year, so he's really the centerpiece, in terms of talent, in this deal. Everyone else is just varying levels of fodder.

Q's wild summer continues as he is traded to Miami

Richardson's wild summer tour of the NBA continued Thursday night, when he was traded by the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Miami Heat for center Mark Blount.

Richardson spent the last four seasons with the New York Knicks and now has been traded four times in less than two months: to Memphis on draft night, then to the Los Angeles Clippers, then to Minnesota and now to Miami.

Does anyone want this guy? :p

Actually, I think Miami is a great fit for Q. Wade is more of a slasher so I always think it's best to complement that type of superstar with a catch and shoot type who won't pound the ball.

C -O'Neal/Anthony/Magloire
PF-Haslem/Beasley
SF-QRich/JJones/DWright
2G-Wade/DCook/Diawara
PG-Chalmers/Quinn

Nocioni is what we received in exchange for Salmons and Miller. Plus his contract is very top heavy, why should we throw him away for Q? Nocioni is a serviceable player and i dare say he is more of an asset than an expiring contract. Boston would give us money picks and other goodies if Pierce went down and they needed Noc. Offering Q as a replacement for a starter is laughable. The highest value you can compare Q to is Randolph, and that doesn't say much. Miami is where Q belongs, its easy to spend money in Miami and Q has a lot to spend.

ugh... so we cant trade nocioni unless paul pierce gets injured... qrich would be great to have on the team just because he is an expiring contract and a much better shooter than nocioni or any player that we trade for him. if it doesnt work he would be gone next season anyways....
