I get all of that, but I also don't understand the way people speak of him as if he's already a big piece. He might be, and I'm definitely hopeful, I just find it strange that people are actually expecting him to be a great player. Two ACL tears, regardless of how it happened, is not going to be easy to come back from. Especially with so much time away from competitive basketball. I mean I hope he is as great as everyone says, but I do find it a little unfair to pile so much expectation on to him.
And yet his lateral quickness is currently that of an elite NBA small forward. Also, he has been practicing with the team, presumably scrimmage games. Hence, the glowing reports. So I think there is some substance there. I'm just not expecting him to play like a veteran, more like a talented rookie.

How do you know that?

I agree with the rest of your post btw, I'm sure he has done well in practice, but he's still a rookie who hasn't played much competitively over the last 3 years. With two serious past injuries. I'm not doubting his talent at all, he was ranked number 1 for a reason. I'm optimistic that he can stay healthy and become a great player for us, I just think it's setting him up for failure to actually expect that, which a lot of people seem to.

I know that because the super-duper testing clinic he went down to in L.A. a few months ago reported it as such.

Colour me skeptical. I'm not counting on a big having elite SF lateral movement coming off two ACL surgeries. Obviously I hope I'm wrong, but I'd rather see Harry play first before claiming he has elite SF quickness. Those are exactly the type of expectations that are unfair on the kid.

Can someone confirm if Giles and Bagley are slated to play Monday?
I have not seen 100% confirmation from the team, but it is my understanding that is the case. Vlade has said that Bagley would be fully participating in summer league in both Sacramento and Vegas, and sometime late in the season I believe the team said they planned to have Giles participate fully as well (and haven't heard anything contrary since). It sounds as if Fox will play in Sacramento but not in Vegas.

Perfect. Thanks. Going Monday, but might go Tuesday as well

I'm not skeptical. If this super duper clinic doesn't know what's what in their testing, we've got bigger problems than rating his lateral quickness, as their job was to evaluate his entire physical fitness.

Are they sold out of summer league tickets for the July 2nd games? I don't see anything on ticketmaster.
I have a pair of 3 day passes (lower bowl) and it turns out I'll only use the ones on July 3rd. So I have a pair on July 2 and 5 to part with at face value. If interested, hit me up!

The Kings had Giles tested at the P3 clinic in December (if memory serves), and they said his lateral quickness was that of an elite SF.

I'm always skeptical of any measurements when it comes to athletic ability, Monta Ellis according to the NBA draft combine was considered the worst athlete that tested (he was a absolute FREAK athlete from like 18-27)and you have guys like JJ Reddick who had a higher vertical than Igudola I don't trust it until I seem them actually play there's a big difference testing well athletically and being a good athlete within the game.

I get this. I just take it with a grain of salt.
P3 has tested A LOT of NBA athletes over the years... Some NBA teams send their players their every summer..

I know for sure though that Derrick Favors has put up crazy lateral force stats there and it might not be all that apparent when you watch him in the NBA, it's true tho..
