Stockton Kings 2024-2025 Open Thread

I notice that a lot of these guys do not have a good sense of when to pick up their dribble. They stop and realize there is no one to pass to...

I would have expected the city uni to have a dirty needle and the outline of a body. Who are they trying to fool there?
No kidding - at my previous job (oh, at least a decade ago) I had a project in Stockton at the electrical substation on the south side of Church Street between Center and El Dorado. I walked around the facility the first morning checking our USA marks (Underground Service Alert). There was a dude sitting against the perimeter wall with his eyes closed, head tilted back, and a needle sticking out of his arm. I did NOT go check to see what his condition was. A bit later in the day, someone was having some kind of fit outside the entrance gate and an ambulance rolled up to help her out.

Scary stuff down there...

That playoff game was the best g league game I've ever seen. Both teams played like NBA teams and Mason Jones and TyTy Washington put on a show.

Would you say that Mason Jones has more upside than Markelle Fultz at this point?
I'm not even sure it matters. If you're relying on either guy that means you're already in a lot of trouble. Fultz is a safer player because he can defend a bit. Jones can't defend at all and is really loose with the ball but he can do things offensively that Fultz could never do. I guess it would depend on how the kings roster is constructed bench wise. If they have a bunch of defenders then Jones might be the way to go.

TyTy is actually a guy I wish the kings would take a flyer on if he becomes available. He's put on muscle, no longer looks undersized and has no issues getting to his spots. He looked incredible but Crawford and some other guys did a great job of bottling him up in the closing minutes and that's why the Kings finally stretched out a small lead to win it. Id absolutely look into him as a backup PG although there is a chance that he's a AAAA player of sorts where he tears up the minors and falls on his face in the big leagues. So far his numbers have dictated that.

Stockton is now up 88-75 over the Austin Spurs at the end of the third period. They outscored the Spurs by 20 in the third quarter.

TIL...that the Stockton Kings franchise had yet to make it to a championship series until this year. Don't ask me why, but I totally thought a championship was actually won at one time...:):):)

I was on my way back from SF this afternoon and realized I'd be cruising through Stockton about 6:30 PM, so I decided to just go catch this game. I ended up getting the last available seat in the lower bowl. My 5th row seat was $35, I was 3 rows behind our own Chris Lopez, and 3 seats over from a former co-worker from a few years back (and a couple of his young kids - this was his first time attending a Stockton Kings game and he was impressed).

The game was great, the view fantastic, and the crowd was into it and having fun. I had a blast.

Team went ham from 3 and they pulled it out. Only disappointment so far in the playoffs has been Crawford. Nearly everyone else has been playing really well.

@Warhawk you definitely got your money's worth there. That was probably more enjoyable than most Sacramento games this year.
