Stockton HC Lindsey Harding to join Lakers coaching staff

Good for her. Although she probably could've agreed to go to a better team at the end of the day, and it will be nice to see her cover her ears to reduce the noise of any and all cowbells in the arena when her Lakers come to Sacramento to play...:p:p:p

Wasn't she with the big club and took the head coach job in Stockton, unless she's lead assistant in LA this seems more about being JJ's pal. Sucks for us though. Another year where we lose the Stockton head coach. Two great years and seems like we have a productive system over there but some continuity would be great.
 
I think her influence on the team was greatly missed last year. She could read ppl and when players were not themselves she just knew; often pulled players aside to see what was going on (or wrong). She had a great rapport with players. No longer having those interactions is a huge impact.

Makes you wonder, had they kept her on the Kings assistant staff and not moved to Stockton, would she have taken the job in LA? Maybe so, if it was mostly a pay increase situation
 
I am not familiar with every coaching staff roles (past or present) but the departure of Jordi for Nets and a couple of other staff as well couldn't bring her back to the Kings? Also are all those ones that left already replaced? I guess Christie got the promotion but still there are other places to be filled right?

What I don’t understand is why some of you are positioning it as if the KINGS really lost out on a future great coach. Why? What’s so inarguably great about her? What am I missing?

Didn’t Bobby Jackson post a similarly great season with Stockton, too? How about Tyrone Ellis for that matter?

I don’t recall many of you lamenting over those guys leaving. And I’m sure those guys had players that liked and related to them well, too.

If Harding wasn’t a female coach, would most of you be touting her near as much? Color me skeptical.

I’m not at all suggesting that Harding isn’t or won’t be a good coach. I’m just not seeing anything to warrant the extra hype and attention over dozens of other equally up and coming coaching candidates spread throughout the league.

Lastly, I would usually have no problem wishing Harding well in her next endeavor but since it’s for the LA LeFraud’s — I have no choice but to root for her to fail along with that scrub idiot JJ Redick and the rest of that crap staff.

Anybody with half a brain understands why Redick got that gig and it wasn’t because he is a proven coaching mind or deserved it. Same goes for LeFraud James Jr. being gifted a roster spot out of nepotism.

Here’s looking forward to that house of cards falling soon.

One would think that being head coach is a bigger job if they had legit plans to bring her back in the future though? I don't know. Kind of weird since our head coaching situation is the best its been in years to worry about losing a future head coach though. Wish her the best just wish it wasn't there.
 
It'll be a good opportunity to deal with one of the biggest ego-driven head cases in the game.

Realistically, friends with Redick or not, she'll be the one with actual experience between the two of them, and could see this as an opportunity to take on more responsibility in the NBA vs. down in Stockton.

He already has two former head coaches with him, in McMillan and Brooks

Which is why I don't understand how her role in LA will be bigger than the role as HC of a G-League team or whatever we could offer her, they must just really be tight. I guess the other part of this is if Portland or something opened up it would be a lot easier to leave the 3rd assistants job in LA at the drop of a hat.

The other angle might be to learn from different styles of coaching and to add coaching Lebron to your resume. Or maybe she just wants to live in LA haha
