Starting 5

107 of the 118 pts were scored by our Starting 5.
45 of the 51 reb were pulled down by our Starting 5.
20 of the 26 ast were dished out by our Starting 5.

That brings me to this...

Any Questions?

turnovers ?

We didnt have as many as them... only one who had a problem really was Skinner I believe who had 6 or it might not have been him. Im not currently looking at the stats but someone will know. Otherwise it was a very very good night.

Performances like this by our starting 5 will win us some games in the playoffs!

12 turnovers by the starters skinner had 0 thomas was the one with 6

Overall game was nice but one game doesn't and never has made a season. One game at a time.

I don't want to get crazy on a win or a loss. Just taking it one game at a time, my mind is playoffs or bust right now. I don't really care who we beat and by how much.

PLAYOFFS OR BUST!

yeah, i've got a question. why can this possibly be a good thing? we're celebrating that we have no bench and our starters have to average 39.2 minutes?

performances like this can maybe win us one game in the playoffs, and then they'll collapse from exhaustion and we'll lose games 2-5

Nah - starters can play big minutes in the PO because there are never B2B games (especially the early rounds - sometimes a 3-4 day break between games). Not saying the stat is something I like, but this is only one game.

captain bill - Adelman made the point that this was an important game that we needed to win before we head out on the road for two games.

AI played 48 minutes. So, compared to him, our starters were just coasting along...and it wasn't the second game of a back-to-back for the Kings.

The starters have to work hard right now. They only have 10 more games to get their act together. If they don't do it now, when exactly would you suggest they do it?

This is the time our starters need to Gel with each other, I want to go into the playoffs with an Identity not without one....

maybe it's less that the starters got a lot of minutes that bothers me and more that the bench combined for 11 points, 4 rebs and 6 asts. having a short bench can really kill you in the playoffs, when good teams cart out their benches to liven up the game and we have no answer. granted, bjax, brad and corliss will hopefully all be ready come playoff time, but its still a little disconcerting to see such total lack of production of the bench

well with bobby and brad we wouldnt have a short bench..... we'd have bobby, evans, corliss, darius, and skinner coming off the bench.... that lineup would probably get more rebounds than the starters....

Our bench was shorter than usual tonight because Corliss didn't play and Evans was obviously having an off-night. It happens.

Sorry, but I'm not going to get upset about the bench production tonight. I'm just going to enjoy the good feeling from seeing a good, hard-fought game.

Eddie House did fine out there.

Besides, as mentioned, bench and depth is not as important in the Playoffs. Teams shorten their rosters, they have more time to scheme against certain teams and players, they have longer rests between games, etc.

The Playoffs is a whole new ballgame. Having a dependable 8 man rotation in the playoffs is enough, teams with 9, 10, even 11 or 12 good players may actually struggle for lack of a go-to player or having to cut deserving players from their roster.
