Ok I was bored and happened to check out sactown royalty's site... since its been awhile..

they had posted a "Kings assets rankings"

http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2010/...307860/sactown-royaltys-kings-asset#storyjump

coming in at #4 ahead of Greene/Casspi/JT i was shocked to see Spencer "soggy waffles" Hawes... btw totally disagree with him being above those guys... but spence hawes!!!

the poster when on to explain that if Hawes were a 4th year senior in college he would be owning it and the Pac 10... Funny that I give Hawes a lot of flack but dang he is still really young... and this poster could be right...its possible that he would be doing really well in college maybe even being close to a double double guy...

however that got me thinking... im still not really sure he would be all that much better than what he did when he his 1st year in college... his rebounding is just seriously so weak... and he doesnt seem to be putting in the effort and work to get better. in fact i think its obvious that he hasn't and it shows on the floor, as well as in what he says in interviews...

As with all young Center prospects time is still on his side and he has shown some flashes... but you still cant help but to be disappointed with his effort, work ethic and attitude.... he has this sense of entitlement, and its too bad... but as much as i hate on this guy...

here's hoping that he finally straightens his head out and puts in the hard work this summer... it would be nice if he could one day reach his potential...

his rebounding is all about positioning and strength... if he helps box out and another team mate gets the rebound then he has done his job, in college his rebounding was not that high being paired with a rebounding beast like brockman.

now you pair him with a pf who is good at rebounding JT and brock and his rebounding will not be at par with other centers. he also spends some time at the top of the key on offense so he cant grab all the offensive rebounds but what he does that other centers cant is to facilitate the offense, the cutters. and he can spread the floor with his shooting

strength is something he doesnt have right now, but that can be fixed with a big man coach focusing on him. defensively i think he's ok for a 21 year old getting blocks and some steals at times. he is fiery you have to give him that

Someone beat me to rating this thread.

hey, since you're so down on hawes, why don't you look into some comparisons with other centers and see how he stacks up? Look up defensive rebounding percentage, since rebounds are something bothering you. Look up his points per shot, his PER, and so on. See where he shakes out. if it's worse than Eddie Curry's stats you probably have an argument. If it's not, then post whatever it is you find out.

The rationale for creating this thread was specious to begin with. The redundancy of "soggy waffles" has just become ... well ... redundant.

We get it, sactownfan. You don't like Spencer Hawes. That's fine ... but it's certainly not worth a new thread.
