Don't Make Me Use The Bat
Because it has been a tale of two seasons for the Kings so far with all of our losses coming early, and all of our wins more recently, the following stats need kind of an asterisk. But they are interesting:
Return of Peja
Peja is averaging 22.4pts on 46% shooting (41% from 3pt land) in our last 10 games. He is averaging 23.2pts on 49% shooting (45% from 3pt land) in our last 5 games. And those numbers are including his absolutely dreadful 10pt no-show agaisnt Indiana last week. Welcome back Mr. Stojakovic!
But not of Rebounding...
However, over those same stretches his rebounding has remained absolutely dreadful -- 4.2 in the last 10 gms, and 4.8 in the last 5. And that's with his big 12 reb game last night.
Home/Road -- the Home Warrior
Somewhat troublingly, Peja is shooting .471 at home, but only .406 on the road. Let's hope that is largely due to his awful start when we played 4 of 5 on the road.
Wins/Losses
Peja's shooting has been a bellweather for us so far this year: 22.3pts (.466 FG% .412 3pt%) in victories, 17.6pts (.380 FG% .214 3pt%) in losses. Of course so has Webb's -- .484 in wins, .376 in losses. So it might just be that terrible start to the season again.
*(interestingly, Mike Bibby, who got off to the hot start, actually has exactly the opposite pattern -- he has shot .484 in our LOSSES, and only .401 in our WINS)
