So Who's Really Out There for Trades?

Bricklayer

Don't Make Me Use The Bat
Since we've abruptly found ourselves in the land of potential trades, thought I would just go ahead and start a thread about players of interest that are rumored to actually be out on the market right now, (due to team or player dissatisfaction etc.):

Vlad Radmonovic
Darius Miles
Ruben Patterson
Carlos Boozer
Matt Harping(?)
Earl Watson
Troy Hudson
Michael Olowakandi
Kevin Garnett
Wally Sczcerbiak
PJ Brown
Rasho Nesterovic (maybe no longer?)
Mark Blount
Raef LaFrentz
Paul Pierce
Jamaal Crawford
Maurice Taylor
Jalen Rose
Drew Gooden
Etan Thomas (just a guess based on lack of minutes)
Al Harrington

More of course may in fact be available, but these are the guys (significant players) that there has been smoke about

I would approve of getting Thomas, Nesterovic, maybe Blount or Radmonavic in a trade for Peja, move SAR up to SF, Brad to PF, plug in our new Center. Throw in a shooter who can rebound, hussle, defend (not great, this is filler for a trade) to become 6-7th man in rotation. Keeps our uptempo offensive style going, allows Brad to face PFs who he could probably defend better than the athletic centers who routinely own him, and put SAR in a spot where he can accel, really become the focus of our offense. That team, with energy of the bench and a much more defensive focus than now, I would enjoy watching a lot more.

Also, Peja for Harpring would be great, but we went over that before, the reasons Utah would trade Harpring mean that they would not trade him for Peja (still would have to play guys out of position)

Nazr Mohammed has also been mentioned a few times, but I doubt it's true. Blount, Rasho I think are staying put also.

Out of those guys, excluding the big names and guys like Etan/Harrington/Radmanovic (haven't read anything or think they are, excluding Radmanovic who is just weird and wants to start anyways), I'd love to get PJ Brown or Harpring or Ruben Patterson.

Free-agent pool is pretty decent also (Lynch/Person/F. Lopez/A. Griffin/...Spree)

There is not a hell of a lot there that can make us better. A couple of nice players off the bench types and a couple of stars. Some average players, some players that wouldn't make us better.

Not a lot on offer really.

How about Jamal Crawford for KG. It might take some convincing but in the end I think Petrie would pull the trigger on it.

So how do the kings get Crawford? :)

I'd love to see KG (obviously), but depending on how boston goes a Peja/Pierce trade would make me VERY happy.

If Indy is indeed shopping Foster that might be something to look into. He makes less than $5 mill per year and he would instantly become our best interior defender. He also has great rebounding skills. His offensive game has a lot to be desired, but he's a bargain at his price.

Corey Maggette

I want Pierce. Only guy on that list that's still in the realm of possibility and has the capacity to carry a team and give us a complete 180. I'd give up Brad and Peja and drag Washington into a 3-way to somehow tear Brendan Haywood from them. I want a defensive presence at C that doesn't have to score and comes cheap. Plug in some scrubs to make salaries work. Make it so.

Why not ? He brings so much to a team - Such as crying for minutes every day ?

Why wouldnt u want Vlad ?

LOL....because that is the most that he brings. :p ;)

NO !

:(

........................

Well - Maybe, lol.

But he is still decent - if he actually decided to play to his max - which i have seen 1 or 2, but yea - he hasnt been playing very well.

man i would LOVE to see some of the reactions around here if vlad-rad was playing for SAC!!!

way more potential and wayyy less effort.....

I don't think Radmanovic knows what it's like to earn minutes, playing time. He has been spoiled by the Sonics organization and the Seattle media to the point where he thinks he's Wilt Chamberlain. Radman needs to remember one thing - his name is Vladimir Radmanovic, and thus far he hasn't done squat to warrant a starting spot in the NBA.

He showed he could play - when he got the minutes in 2004 - 05. He thought that he was going to play a bigger role this season because that what he was promised ?

It doesn't matter what was promised. You can't take anything for granted in professional sports, no matter who you are. When he does play , he doesn't play well. That's good enough of a reason for him not to play.

Besides , his attitude just disgusts me. It was no surprise that Pesic kicked him out of the team in the Euro Championships. In fact, after this year's campaign with the national team he said that "all the other players on our team are jealous of the NBA players because we make much better money and play in the best league in the world."

I don't want a guy like that on my team.

I wouldn't mind Vlad coming off the bench, but he doesn't want to. Vlad at PF and Peja at SF could be an interesting combo.

I would love to get Etan, but his contract is as bad as Kenny's so he would have to be involved in the deal somewhere. Brenden Haywood is cool, but no way is swapping him for Brad Miller even remotely a good idea. Unless there was something else in it. Like a lottery pick.

Uh, I know Vlad can and does play PF at times, but I hope that's what you mean... ;)
