This is just another example of how spoiled the Kings are. Just because we've supported them unconditionally for the past decade and a half doesn't mean we are pushovers - we expect effort just like every other NBA city.
Players would do well to remember that WE are paying THEM. It is THEIR job to pump US up, not vice-versa.

VF I don't know about you but being called a fairweather fan is pretty damn insulting if you arent one. All of you out there know if your a fairweather fan. Me personally I don't like being told that im looking for a reason to boo. Thats crap. You might not see a problem with this but I do. Its my opinion.

Queensfan you hit it right on the head. It seems that the kings think that we should support them unconditionally. That is crap. You have all seen how they have been playing. Especially the damn starters. They are a talented bunch who don't seem to really give a damn.

Brad shouldn't have said what he said, but I would never boo the team. I couldn't bring myself to boo my own team. It just wouldn't feel right.

Insulting? A player who has always been a fan favorite has a microphone shoved in his face after what was most likely a very tense practice. He is asked questions - usually pretty damned leading questions - and he makes a response that can be taken in a negative way. What happens? KHTK - THE HOME OF THE KINGS - plays a part of the tape on the Grant and Mike Show - or whatever the bleeping thing is called.
Insulting? Oh yeah. It's insulting. It's insulting that Grant Napear would, once again, sell out for ratings. It's insulting that MIKE LAMB - who comes from LA and has NEVER been a fan of the KINGS - would make a big deal out of this and some Kings fans would buy it lock, stock and barrel.
You want to be insulted? Fine. Be insulted. I've heard how Grant and Mike THEMSELVES treat the fans. I'm not taking anything from their show at face value. Show me a complete transcript and we'll talk. Otherwise, it's just puffery for ratings.
Insulting? Oh definitely. To the intelligence of anyone who is really a fan of the team. If Grant and/or Mike are trying this hard to turn the fans against a member of the team, what's next? Or better, who will be next? I'm not buying into it - now or ever.

They have not been playing the clip over and over and over...so I'm sure there will porbably be an articl in the bee including the exact quote tomorrow. We'll probably have to wait for that since Koz's show is pre-empted by Monday Night Football.

I just heard it on the radio, and to me it was Insulting actually it was very Insulting Brad does not know that we have to bust our a**es to get these tickets and him calling us fairweather fans is just to harsh this is just to hard for me to swallow Brad needs to apologize for saying a dumb thing.

It might apply to charlotte fans or atlanta fans because they can't and won't sell out their games. They don't support their teams. Sac fans? Cmon! How many sellouts are we at right now? I don't call that fair weather. Even when the kings were good we would sell out the bottom dweller games. Thats not fairweater.

By what VF said it sounds like the Lamb guy is pretty shady and I already know how bad Grant is just by his commentary during the games... YOu're jumping to a pretty strong conclusion about someone who has NEVER said anything negative about any fans before. You need to take a deep breath and realize you might not know all the details.
Face it. These guys may be paid millions but they're human, too. It's pretty hypocritical of people who frequently call THEM all kinds of names in anger to get on their high horses because a player just might, after a particularly heated practice, say something he would not have said otherwise.
Kings players are human. They should be allowed to vent, just like anyone else. I am truly more puzzled by the need of Lamb/Grant to use this AGAINST the team than anything else. But it shouldn't surprise me. They've taken major swipes against the Kings before, always hiding behind the "the fans need to know" excuse when bottom line it's usually just about ratings.

I am still having a hard time with the self-righteous shock and dismay at a fan raining boos down on the team and then being called fairweather by a player. I mean, has anybody ever heard of "don't dish it out if you can't take it?"
Now everybody on both sides has vented. time to get back to more important things, which for Brad and the team would be showing that they are capable of more than just going throught the motions.
(Just as an aside, we really could use a 100% of the time energizer bunny/sparkplug on this team.)
