LOL!!! yeah i just had to do it...

with so many people worried about Evans improving his jump shot... I think we should all look at his body of work this year and his work ethic... Evans will do all that he can to improve... so if you were worried... it will be ok...

however.... speaking of players doing all that they can to improve... and players that NEED to improve...

has anyone heard anything about what Hawes is doin? or what Hawes master plan to address his weaknesses might be?

Probably, like the rest of the guys, taking a vacation right now before a summer of training and potentially (hopefully) summer league

Unless I missed it, a season wrap up would have been nice from the Bee with brief interviews with the players. It would have been nice to hear what each had planned this summer.

I searched around the internet and the last news from Hawes was that his season was over, but he would not have to have surgery... so, he is probably rehab-ing his knee right now in Seattle (Hopefully, with Sir Mix-A-Lot by his side)

BMU (Brad Miller University - School of Big Men)

Getting a summer certificate in Big Softies, with a specialization in Contact Avoidance.

Relevant Courses
Pick and Pop - because you could get hurt down on the block.
3 Pointers - because 3 is worth more than 2.
Slipping Screens - Why stand there if someone is going to just run in to you?
Why Toughness is Overrated - A film class

During breaks, B52 takes them hunting, fishing, and takes the quads out on trails.

Sorry, but I had to...:p That's what you wanted anyways, right OP?

I hope Hawes will have a chance to review the countless threads in this forum written directly and indirectly involving him. It has been the talk for almost the whole season that he needs to toughen-up in defense, the team needs a defensive BIG, and to the point that a fan even baptised him the denigrating name so*** wa***** which really sticks to him like glue. And maybe after reading, Hawes has some pride left and will do what he needs to do to correct what has been wrong in his game.

It is unanimous all-season long. If we only have that tough defensive BIG ( that all of us think we should address this offseason by way of draft or free agency or trade ), the Kings will somehow be relevant again.

Are you going to be the same clueless 7 footer again next season Mr. Hawes?

Lol. Sactownfan should call him up to arrange a summer workout schedule

it would probably be better than what he did last year... i do personally train high school athletes

Why does it not surprise me that you would create a thread regarding Hawes. Although I think Hawes should hit the weight room, giving him the benefit of the doubt, I really hope he is working on building more muscle and working on his game.

There is a lot of criticism you can apply to Hawes that is completely valid. He should be working on his post game more. He needs to mentally toughen up. He needs to work on his defense. However, from everything I've heard there isn't a player on the team who hits the weight room more than Hawes. What is he now? 21? 22? He should be coming off his senior year in college. I don't give him a free pass, but I also wouldn't give up on him quite yet. If he accepts his role off the bench, and toughens up some, he has some skills that can be very valuable as a center off the bench.

Also ... he won't be playing in summer league. I believe that is only for players in their first 3 years in the league. I think there have been exceptions where players who are new to the team or coming back from injury have played a couple games, but I doubt he will be there.

If only Hawes and Brockman could have a baby, and we speed up his age to 19.

We would name him Brawesman.

Didn't Ron Artest play in a game or 2 in summer league when he joined the Kings?

This thread is a little disturbing. From what I heard, there was nobody who worked harder in the weight room than Hawes. Nobody. I'm not saying that he doesn't have a need for improvement, but he doesn't deserve some of the crap I'm reading in this thread. Okay, I've said enough. I'm rooting for you, Spencer!

(This wasn't directed toward you, Rockmeister. I just get tired of some people disrespecting Spencer all the time.)

sure he'd be a senior in college but its a extension year for him. are we gonna give him $10million a year? or will his agent demand some ludicrous amount for a soft center? i'd be willing to gamble on him for a few million per year but not 7-10 million.

With the new CBA and the threat of drastically (or at least somewhat) reduced salaries on the horizon, the odds that we are going to pony up $10M a year for Hawes are somewhere between No and Nuh-Uh, Not Going To Happen. $7M seems high. Somewhere between $5-6M is more likely.

That could well be be true if the owners get what they want, but percentagewise that $7mil or whatever would still end up representing the same amount of whatever the new cap is that they put in. And if they do manage to harden up the cap (a dubious move IMO), those $$ become even more critical and cap management becomes an even larger/more important part of building a winning team. Not sure how we are going to play this one.
