Sixers shopping Iggy?

Adrian Wojnarowski of YahooSports posted on his twitter account that the Sixers were offering Iguodala to Cleveland, but for what is unknown. He thinks Philly is looking for some cap flexibility.

WojYahooNBA:
The Cavs have been listening intently to Sixers pitch of Andre Iguodala for several days, sources say. Unclear what Philly wants back.
The Sixers are in a tough spot, cause it's very unlikely they can move Brand contract. To get much cap flexibiity, Iggy probably has to go.
We have about 12 million in expirings, and we can even throw in Martin for Dalembert.

Woj is usually reliable, however because this is on his twitter account and not on YSports, sources might not be as concrete.

If Cleveland is willing to takeBrand's contract to get Iggy, its tough for us to match up because there's no way we should do that. That clears Philly's financial decks and makes a ton of sense for Cleveland.

It doesn't make sense, but the way I understand it is Philly knows they can't trade Brand, so Iggy will be the one they move. If we knew what they wanted from Clev, it'd give us a better understanding of what they want to do. Are they looking at Ilgauskas expiring contract because that's about the only thing Clev has, realistically, that would make sense for Philly. That would make trading Iggy a salary dump. They're at 65mil next year with 10 contracts. This would be in line with what Chris Broussard from espn reported earlier this month about Iggy for McGrady's expiring.

If they're willing to move Iguodala, we should be in those talks. I felt we shouldn't trade Martin unless it was for a big, but I'd take Iguodala if we can get him.

Well said. Nobody will take the albatross that is Brand, nor Dalembert it looks like. I don't know if it make sense for Cleveland altough they need guards with West/Mo out, but Iggy is in that Martin mold where he needs the ball to be effective. He's a hell of a finisher and a slasher, but not much of a reliable shot. Not sure what role he would fill here, but I know our Guards would be hard to score on...

Hmmm...the way I read your post the first time it read to me like Cleveland would take Brand's contract to get Iggy, which would be a tough deal to match. That deal really does make sense for the Cavs too. Finances are not a concern when Lebron is your cornerstone and Brand can really help them when he's healthy. He's severely overpaid at this point, but he's still a solid rebounder and defender. Of course the point is that they get Iggy as the Pippen to Lebron's Jordan. That would be a dynamite defensive/athletic duo.

Of course that's why we'd want to get him to pair with Tyreke. I really like the Martin/KT for Iggy/Dalembert idea or close variations of that.
