Well some of us are kind of sitting pretty in our leagues and don't really need any trades.


As for that trade there...certainly would not help us this playoffs. And in the offseason I would much rather try to bundle Bobby to bring back a true talent of some sort if it turns out we are going to be rebuilding.

I've actually though Gadzuric was being underused in Milwaulkee for a while, but he's certianly no future star, nor worth one.

Well some of us are kind of sitting pretty in our leagues and don't really need any trades.

I don't need a reason to make trades; I won a league last season where, over the course of the season, I traded every player that I drafted, except for two... I have a nasty habit in fantasy basketball of trading just for the hell of it; whenever the mood strikes me. In fact, I'm in a league with some friends of mine, where my goal is to trade every single player that I drafted; so far, I've already traded all but three of my players, and I still have a team that's good enough to win the championship.

Sitting pretty don't mean a thing; in one of the leagues I was in, I held a stranglehold on first place from start to finish, and lost in the second round of the playoffs. In another league, I barely even made the playoffs (on a tiebreak), and won the whole damned thing; all you need is a team that's good enough to win, and a lucky draw.

Now, as for my trade proposal... I think that it could possibly be addition by subtraction: we get a proven shotblocker, and a legit backup PG that can provide energy. And Bobby gets the chance to start for a (borderline) playoff team. Everybody wins.

Not sure where the idea came from though that we needed to replace Tag. Tag is NOT the problem. He can get it done in our weak areas if he's just on the floor. He's been to the big dance before. Twice actually. Not a kid. not an unproven guy. Big ole shotblocking and rebounding lug. Unless some other player can match his productivity while simultaneouosly stealing minutes from either Webb or Miller, its not going to help us.

Mentioned this before -- the biggest key might actually be Tag vs. Darius. I think Darius is a handy player to have around. I also think that if he keeps Tag off the floor that Darius may actually end up hurting our chances in the end. No a player in the NBA remotely intimidated by a Miller/Webber/Songaila frontcourt. Heck I wouldn't be intimidated by a Miller/Webber/Songaila frontcourt.

The point about Tag vs. Songaila is right on, imho. I much prefer to trade Songaila than Tag at this point, and if there would be any reason the Wiz would make a trade involving Brown and Songaila and a few other throwaways, I'm sure Petrie would listen.

The only problem I could foresee (and the chances of it occurring are minimal at best) would be Kwame breaking out of his funk, so to speak, and then just being horribly unhappy here in Sac because he's stuck on the bench for large portions of time. Let's face it -- no matter how well he does, he's not cracking into the starting lineup, which, from the sounds of that Insider article by Chad Ford (I know, I know, consider the source), Kwame thinks he should be starting for someone.

Oh, geez. Another of the "Chris isn't like the Chris of 2000-2003" comments? When are people going to give up on that tired and irrelevant refrain?

No, Webber isn't the same as he was in 2000-2003. Neither is any other player. They change, mature, etc. even without injuries, surgeries, etc.

Webber has an occasional bad game. That is so blown out of proportion that some people want to use it to claim he's no longer one of the elite PFs in the league. And that is simply NOT true.
