Shooting at Willie Cauley-Stein's house

This tidbit (from the ABC story, but repeated elsewhere) is bizarre:

According to property records, the home is owned by Willie Cauley-Stein...

Cauley-Stein's agent, Roger Montgomery, told ABC10 the player never owned the home, but previously rented it more than a year ago.

Either the news media found some sort of rental record and mistook it for a property record, or there are some sort of shenanigans going on here. You don't get your name listed in ownership on a property record when you rent a place.

Well I think we already know that Willie's agent is a grade-A nitwit.

I hope that nobody was seriously hurt.

One of the local stations reported that WCS moved out of there about a month ago, which would make sense since he's now playing for the Warriors.

My guess would be some former neighbor dropped Willie's name and the reporter didn't bother to verify.

Was a lovely morning. We got up at 6:30, power was completely out to the point we could not get any sort of internet and sporadic texts, got an automated voice mail from our 5 year olds school saying school is cancelled then get a call from mother in law asking if we are ok because there was an active shooter in the neighborhood and the entire wildhawk area was on lockdown . Turns out the house was across the street (across vineyard). bought that house 3+ years ago and had no idea WCS lived there.

My understanding is he was still renting it. If he had a lease he may not have been able to get out of it in 30 days.

Same cars that were there when he was living there were still there today (minus the platinum color Charger, which I assume was his. Was a unique looking car).
