I like turtles
I'm taking some time off from work and came up Sacramento this month, and I decided to kill time by taking some pictures of this city that I love...(I actually used my old Canon which takes FILM) Enjoy!

Nice stuff.

Maybe I should scan some of the things I've shot since I've been in Humboldt Co. and we can have a down and dirty, no holds barred, region-off. :p

Glad you posted these, though, because I've been meaning to ask what the new buildings are. Last time I made the drive, I noticed that the skyline looked quite different (either that, or I'm going nutty).

I've been in Arcata since August of 2007.
Oh, nice. I still visit there semi-regularly. Both my Mom and Dad graduated from Arcata High back in the 70's.

Why'd you move there?

Oh and I also have some nice photos I could post from that area. :)

P.S. Great photos, Ryan. Don't wanna hijack the thread.

No talking about anything else other than this thread!! It cost me $30.00 for all this....

Just kidding. Or am I?

Thanks for all the kind words. I haven't taking photos since my London days. It's fun to take up old hobbies.

Nice shots. Hope I get to visit some day.

haha, don't visit sac! i have lived in sac my entire life, there really isn't much to visit. Don't get me wrong, its a wonderful place to live, but if you wanna site see, go to San Francisco or something like that. I feel bad for people i know who are excited to come to california and all they see is Sacramento, there just isn't much to see. The clubs are dope tho, haha.

Hey, RIP, speak for yourself. :p

I love Sacramento. I have lived here for 26 of the past 28 years. There is much to see, particularly from a historical perspective. Oh, and I don't do the clubbin scene.

Thanks for some wonderful photos, Ryan.

Sacramento will seem great to me, no matter how average it may seem to you (RIP miyagi). I want to visit mainly to see the Kings play, but I'll be sure to have a look around, too. I found Philly to be nice enough during the summer, so I'm sure I'll love Sacramento!

If nothing else, you will like the heat without opressive humidity!

I could not believe how hot it was when I was on the East coast. It felt like I was in a sauna, constantly. It was in the 90s pretty much every day. I loved being able to throw on a pair of shorts and a tee 'cause I don't really get to do that over here. I loved the heat. The long car journeys were an absolute killer, though.

Then you'll love Sacramento. If you come in the summer, be sure to grab a raft and float down the American River.

That looks absolutely awesome. Bad thing is I'd probably be organising the trip to see a Kings game, and unless I go to a summer league game, it wouldn't be in the summer!

Couldn't pass up this op of a quiet afternoon at Steamers Lane, Santa Cruz.
