Might as well start this one too..This is an all time low I think..

This is the ultimate solution as the problems start at the top. Heck, sell the team and as part of the sales terms, let them keep their tickets. All these niggling little arguments about this and that will in the end make no difference with the Maloofs in charge. Fire Petrie and who hires the replacement using what as a determining factor - a cool PowerPoint show? Fire Smart and get who? Tyreke's jump shot form is way down the list of what needs fixing. Maybe nobody wants to admit that the "fix" to the problem is not going to happen.

Were they even at the game tonight? Do they care or is this team just a pain in the rear to them unless they need an adrenaline boost by standing in front of all the people and pretending like they are the good guys.

These new owners/new GM threads are rubbish. Just wait for the trade deadline to pass and we will settle down

Fire the coach. Fire the GM. Then change the owner of the team/sell the team.

Then move the team to Anaheim. :)

J/K Sacramentans. :p

Destroy Unicron!
Kill the grand poobah!
Eliminate even the toughest stains!

You are belittlimg legitimate concerns. They have lost their spirit over far more than a couple games and at the time when most people thought they would be doing well, in a nine game home streak.

I don't really think the concerns are legitimate, I think they're overblown. When we squeaked by New Orleans and pummeled Dallas we had "turned a corner". Now that we return to being the same team we've been all year, and we haven't pulled down a blockbuster trade sending out our junk for a star, we need to fire the coach, fire the GM, and sell the team. Note that the last one is a bit different, because while we could pressure ownership to do the first two, it's kind of hard to pressure ownership to sell the team (we know they don't want to sell, of course).

The legitimate concerns here, as I see it, are that we don't have an answer at the SF, that Smart insists on playing smallball, and that we've been very bad defensively (which may go back somewhat, but not entirely, to the smallball). Two of these three have been concerns all year long. So yes, I see this as panic mode after two losses in games we thought we'd win. Fans on this board have been riding some pretty serious rollercoasters of emotion (which has been a problem all year), and this behavior isn't likely to go away because it has already been rewarded - the torch and pitchfork crew screamed and hollered and Westphal was fired. Now that torch-and-pitchforking has been reinforced, it's going to keep happening.

Patience is out the window around here. But take a deep breath, take a step back, and ask yourself whether or not this is a roster that needs patience after all. We've got a potential future all-star in Cousins. We've got another potential all-star in Evans, so long as he can start hitting his jumpshots. But both these guys are young and raw. Then we've got some other pieces that are building blocks - MT, JT, IT mostly. We have definite flaws that we need to address, but slashing and burning coaching, front office, and ownership won't solve that. On the other hand there's a strong draft coming up and we've got another chance at free agency with cap room. At any rate we're clearly on the way up, but there are going to be fits and starts. The last two days reflect that. If we're lucky, Smart will move away from smallball and playing Tyreke out of position. Let's start with focusing on that.

The Capt is right. Take a deep breath and watch some other team for a few games. The talent level of even teams like Detroit and Golden State are amazing to watch.

I have wanted the Maloofs to sell for the last couple years. OK, I'll wait a few more games and then espouse it again. I don't have a clue why I should watch other teams.

I'd like them to sell, too. However, I don't want them to sell until they sign the lease comitting the team to staying in Sacramento for 30 years, regardless of who owns the team. First things first.

Besides I have a feeling the only way we'll get new owners is if someone pries the team from their dead, cold hands.

Totally agree.

Most of our threads are useless as they are an exercise in futility. They are a bunch of jibber jabber that solves nothing. I have given up arguing. We can talk and talk and nothing changes. Is talking going to change anything? Of course not? And if that is so, how can we limit what is to be discussed. Limit one topic, limit them all. We have no effect on the team. How anyone can determine how one thread is worth discussing and another isn't, I'll never know. Some people may think it makes sense to talk in an unending fashion about Tyreke's jump shot. I think it is a waste of energy as I have yet to see some one change their mind about Tyreke. I haven't seen a significant change in his jump shot either. So much for the many threads about Tyreke.

If the characteristic of a thread to be worthwhile is that it has to be reasonable, we might as well shut this forum down.

I'll lay off the Maloofs when people lay off Tyreke.

The Maloofs are in power. They decide who our coach is. Ultimately they have veto power over all decisions. No matter who is at SF or PF, the coach is Smart. The Maloofs made this decision based on a month of running up the points and creating excitement. Smart hasn't increased wins but he has created excitement. Where's Daly? Where's AK47? Where is any legitimate SF? We had the cap space to acquire a SF last year. Where's the money that was supposed to be spent last summer?

I suspect no money was spent last summer because the Maloofs didn't know if they had enough money on hand to contribute their portion into a new arena. That's another subject that no one is interested in but me and probably Kennadog. "They tried to spend it" is the answer. Well, Tyreke is trying also. So is Jimmer. So is everyone except perhaps on defense. Is that good enough? Of course not. "Trying" is not good enough to the people who watch this team and I have been watching them as an adult since 1985. At some point there needs to be a measureable improvement and the W/L record is the ultimate measuring stick.

Now we enter another summer with much cap space. Will the Maloofs use it and use it wisely? I hope so. Revenue sharing increases their income. They should have no more excuses unless their contribution to the arena drained them of cash on hand. The build of an arena is well on its way. Time for excuses is over. Ticket prices will go up and people will show up at the arena if only out of curiosity. They need to have a competitive team by that time and retain our young studs until that time.

I like the Maloofs and always have. On the other hand it is they, ultimately, who decide whether this team becomes competitive or not. There is time to fix all our troubles and at the rate we are progressing, we will get a top four pick this year. That could be Davis, Gilchrist, Barnes or Drummiond, all of whom could solve problems and become starters if not All Stars. They all could be better than Tyreke and I think Tyreke is great. (No, I don't know for sure but going by what I know, I feel very sure of that. All I know is what I have in college play and what I can reasonably project project from that.) The game is in the Maloof's court.

BTW, were they at the game last night? Seriously does anyone know? I saw no TV camera shots of them. Perhaps they had something better to do. This team needs to see its owners taking an active interest in their play.

Yep, they were there sitting in thier normal seats, but Joe did not return to his seat after halftime.

That's sad when the owners won't watch what they expect the fans to watch. I think it is also a clear message to the team. Well, maybe not so clear but it shows something was more important to Joe than the Kings.

I wonder how Joe and Gavin are feeling about that extension? Didn't take them long to throw more money away.

Are they capable of learning? That's the big question as this will happen over and over unless they settle on a great coach and finally do it right.

Guys, this obviosuly is not happening, and there is no way to make it happen. Its kind of a pointless thread, and I'm going to close it on up here in a bit lest somebody come by our board and think we are all a bunch of silly panicking weenies. Fire the Coach. Fire the GM. Sell the Team. Blow up the Arena. Shoot the dog. I mean, come on at a certain point. Chill.

I think there is a way this can be made to happen. The NBA has put an unknown amount of money into the arena and have fought tooth and nail for the Maloofs and Sacramento. If the Maloofs put out a half arsed effort in making this team good, I can see the NBA voting to force the Maloofs to sell. It is the NBA that argued on the behalf of the Maloofs. Now the Maloofs need to do their part.

If you shut this thread because it is stupid, I could point out a whole bunch of threads that you participate in that I think are a waste of time and the only reason they seem to exist is because you enjoy discussing the subject. All the stats in the world make no difference if the owners don't give a crap about supporting the team.

Maybe he just got sick to his stomach.. I did!

I don't think we have a dog, but we do have a lion and I am all for shooting his sorry *ss. With a different mascot we could make the playoffs.
