Seattle & Virginia Beach

First it was Seattle's mayor Mike McGinn who said, "we have a team," while having a beer, or two, or three or who knows how many. You can hear him say it at the 5 minute mark at the link below.

Now it's Virginia Beach's turn...

"And it's (Peter) Luukko (president and CEO of Comcast-Spectacor) who seems to have convinced the owners of the Sacramento Kings to bring their team to VB if the beach council agrees to build a new arena."

And as usual we will get the same Eric Rose statement of no comment. That's commitment to Sacramento for you.

This doesn't change anything. As citizens of Sacramento, we must forge onward to better our town for the future- with or without the Kings. The fight will never end.

In a stunning move today, NBA Commissioner David Stern announced that the former Sacramento Kings were to be divided evenly between Seattle and Virginia Beach. "Reporters and officials from both cities made public statements claiming they had secured the Kings," said Stern, "and the NBA felt that it could not allow either municipality to be embarrassed by making such baseless claims. So we split the team between them." Stern said that an impromptu 10-round draft had already been conducted via Skype, in which the Virginia Beach Sandpipers won the first pick by coin toss and selected center DeMarcus Cousins, followed by the Seattle Supersonics' selection of guard Tyreke Evans. Notably left undrafted were majority owners Joe, Gavin and George Maloof. Eric Rose, spokesman and agent for the Maloofs, stated that the Maloofs were only undrafted "because neither Virginia Beach nor Seattle could bear to split up such a cohesive and loving family" and that the Maloofs were working on a cloning technology that would not only allow them to be in both cities at once, but would also allow their money to be cloned thousands of times over, giving them the financial resources to in fact own at least one of the teams. "Maybe both," said Rose, "depending on whether the majority of their current assets are in paper bills or in coins."

LOL! Well done there! I needed a good laugh today....

so should we really be threatened by this or is it just like all the other rumors?

Well yes, we should be threatened by the possibility of the Maloofs being cloned. I was relieved to find out that these guys have no intentions of being married. We don't have to worry about the gene pool producing more jokers like that. But now, the cloning rumor means the possibility of thousands of jokers...:-p

Now I'll have nightmares tonight. Thanks. ;)
