Scoreboard Watch/Playoff Standings Watch 2025 Edition

And the reality is now players are making sure they don't go to teams that emptied their cupboards for them. Durant basically said as much about going to the Warriors and how they'd be better off doing it in the offseason or some BS, lol. Fox made sure the Kings didn't get anything that hindered his chances to have assets around him. It's crazy to think, back in the day players kind of put failure upon themselves and were insulted if they got a weak trade package back. Times have changed.
Things in this regard haven't necessarily changed in most everyone's minds,....though the national media will try to get us to believe otherwise for obvious reasons

Chauncey Billups really gonna keep his job because he said f the rebuild and played his vets a bunch (also helps that Scoot is finally playing up to his draft position and Camara has turned into Herb Jones)
I’m rooting for Dallas now lol i do not wanna have to play the Suns in any play-in situation. Though i do think we’ll end up with the 6th or 7th seed — i hope.

Clippers absolutely choke against the Suns. Enter the 4th up 19, and lose. I think the Suns win is great for us. Much more worried about the Clippers than the Suns at this point.
Incredible. Had the 6th spot, now 9th after a three game slide. That's gotta be an incredibly demoralizing loss. They're fighting for a spot in the play in at this point.

Updated look at the Playoff race:

5. HOU, 37-25 - -
6. GSW, 34-28, 3.0 GB
—————————
7. MIN, 34-29, 3.5 GB
8. SAC, 32-28, 4.0 GB
9. LAC, 32-29, 4.5 GB
10. DAL, 32-30, 5.0 GB
—————————
11. PHX, 29-33, 8.0 GB
12. POR, 28-34, 9.0 GB

Houston has been slipping to the point where they’re are not far off of the Kings. We’re just as close to Houston as the Suns are to us! Clippers continue to slide, hopefully that continues.

Toughest remaining schedules (overall league rank in parentheses):

1. PHX, .590 (#1)
2. SAC, .553 (#2)
3. POR, .541 (#4)
4. LAC, .533 (#7)
5. GSW, .506 (#16)
6. DAL, .496 (#18)
7. HOU, .477 (#24)
8. MIN, .440 (#28)

Rockets, Minny lost, GSW won. GSW were down 8 points after 2 quarters, but with them - they are never out as long as Curry is on the floor.
We have 4 confident wins in a row. Kings had 18 turnovers against Charlotte while only 7 TOs in their last game in Dallas. Pleasure to my eyes. Joker had always problems against Domas. He has different kind of problems against JV. Kings are still far away from the final product, but the quality of the game is improving day by day , game by game. NO STUPID TURNOVERS AND FINISH THOSE DAMN FASTBREAKS!!!

there is an upside to having the tough schedule at the end of the season. Quite frankly, if you have the easy schedule, that means most of the teams that you’re facing are teams below you in the standings, so you’re constantly fighting to more or less tread water in that your wins do not move anyone down that’s above you. Conversely, if you have a brutal schedule, it means many of the teams, you face are above you in the standings so a wn does double duty of moving you up and down. This assumes of course that you win games.

It’s not just the Rockets either. The Grizzlies are right with them, having just lost three straight buzzer beater games, with JJJ newly injured and Ja having constant shoulder problems.

Exactly!

We can look at the standings and schedules until our eyes will run out of blood :)

For the competing team winning games is priority #1. Winning games against direct competition shows the quality of the team. Quality of the team is measured by the talent on the roster and talent of the coaches, assistants, trainers and everybody else even remotely associated with the daily operations.
That's why the I like the concept that the real season begins when the play-offs start. Us or them. Only one problem - good, winning teams need a regular season to make to the real season.
Look at our last 3 very important games. Non-contest at home against Warriors. Very difficult to catch up with them now. Solid win in Houston and we actually have a real chance to catch with them. Blow out W in Dallas.
Today's game in Denver is a tricky one. Both teams need a win for different reasons. We need it much more and now show that we are capable to play on the improved performance level.

Not sure how the geniuses calculate SOS but pretty sure they use the simplest means possible without factoring in things like miles travelled, back to backs, likely load management, current injury status, etc. If they did it would probably have a fancy trademarked name the way every other rating system does.

You mean the team’s Schedule Impacted Losses and Veteran Earned Rest (SILVER) rating?
