tonight this team will be tested against a quick and athletic lineup. as good as dallas. for what reason i don't know, but brad miller only played 9 minutes against the warriors. i hope he plays more tonight. as said preseason doesn't mean much, but it can obviously help a team get on the right track. our 1st preaseason game was a loss, but we looked better against the clippers and even better than that against a strong baron davis and the warriors.

Brad rode the pine because RA is experimenting with lineups, cohesion, player evaluation, and matchups. Now is the time to do it. Better to know beforehand what works and what doesn't.

As posted here, the Nuggets are depleted, so it should be another chance to evaluate players and still get a win.

Tonight's game

Kings vs. Denver Nuggets, Arco Arena, 7 p.m.
What to expect from the Kings: More of the same. After sleepwalking through most of their preseason opener against Dallas and picking it up considerably in a triumph over the Clippers, the Kings sparkled against Golden State on Sunday, rolling 114-99. Six Kings hit for double figures, and it's hard not to imagine more of an onslaught against the injury-depleted Nuggets.

What to expect from the Nuggets: A rested team, for one, but aching all over the roster. Denver has been in town since Sunday and held a practice Monday. Carmelo Anthony produced 23 points in 24 minutes against Portland on Saturday. Marcus Camby, Greg Buckner and Nene will not play because of ailments, and Earl Boykins and Earl Watson have been slowed with injuries and may also sit.

Will Peja get a rebound tonight?? Surely a MAX contract wanting 6-9 forward can grab one board.;)

The over/under is ONE.

under. but i think he explodes for 25 points tonight. back cuts, putting it on the floor, long threes, spin moves

Not much of a test with so many Nuggets hurting. Geesh.

Yeah, but preseason ball rarely is a test. Half the time the other team isn't even interested in winning and just throws random scrubs out on the floor for half the game even if the main guns are healthy.

Yeah, I know and I assume RA will still be experimenting with lineups. I'm curios to see if he plays Skinner/Miller on the floor together tonight. I guess I was just amzed that Denver had so many guys with aches and pains.

They way those whacky matchups have worked thus far, I think tonight may be a bit of a failure on some matchups. Hope I am wrong, but I definately think we see Corliss at C for extended minutes tonight! I also expect the young guys to get some extended minutes before the hammer falls again.

I'm not worrying about Peja or SAR's boarding numbers till regular season first week. But yeah, this should be a win. I expect to see more than 5 minutes for Sampson and Price tonight. At least for the Nuggets talented youngsters Hodge and Smith will get to play. Both I like a lot, though Smith doesn't have a real good chance to make the team.

For anyone interested, NBA league pass has this game on.

It is channel 444 on my local Comcast... your mileage may vary.
