LOS ANGELES – When Kobe Bryant took over in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's Lakers win over the Kings, he had plenty of reasons for motivation.

LOL! Talk about stupid comments.

"No, it's not there," he said when asked if the rivalry was alive. "We've gotten back to a level where we can contend a little bit. Sacramento will get there. And once they get there, then I'm sure it will be blood all over again."

Yeah right, Kobe. I watched the game on Sunday night and I watched your team and your fans. You all wanted to BEAT THE KINGS just as much as we wanted to beat you in Arco.

You can say the rivalry is dead but actions speak louder than words and it certainly didn't look like the rivalry wasn't there.

Kobe needs to watch the game tape. I'm watching the last quarter again right now and Staples is unbelievably loud and the faces of the Lakers and the Kings say it all.

No rivalry? Okay, sure... If you say so, Kobe.

fffffffffffffpppppppppppp!!!!

CONSIDER THE SOURCE!!!

Kobe's idea of a rivalry is which Lakers Vice President shops for jewelry for his wife or for his girlfriend!!

Even if it isn't there. Fans still relive those moments and cheer the loudest. You can't say it's a norcal-socal thing either. Check out the different levels of atmosphere compared to when the Kings play the Clippers, and say the same thing. It's on Mr. Bryant.

"(Moore) was swinging with the elbows before that," he said. "I think every swing like that with the elbows should be a technical when a big guys takes the elbow out."

I totally agree on this one, and I bet Gerald Wallace does too. I was really mad at Mikki there for a minute. What are you doing swinging your elbows like that right around a guy's face? Thank God he missed this time.

Hasn't that always been a part of the Kings-Lakers rivalry though? I think it was Shaq who said it wasn't a rivalry because they had 3 championships and we had none. The Lakers like to rile up Kings fans by saying the Kings aren't even good enough to be their rivals. Kobe is correct to a point though. Until they face off again in the playoffs, the intensity between these two teams is way way down.

I guess im an *** cuzz if some little pesky dude was in my face i would be swingin my elbows too, especially if it was Vujacic.

Maybe Sasha is annoying, maybe he shouldn't be reaching in, but flinging your elbows around like a madman is not the answer. Someone is almost guaranteed to get injured if those elbows actually connect, maybe even seriously. I know the Wallace thing was inadvertent and I don't blame Mikki for that -- but sometimes you need to realize that being a 7 foot athlete with particularly bony elbows requires you to show little bit of restraint. I'd be pissed if I was playing against him and he did that. That's the wrong way to get respect from people.

Mikki Moore is 7 feet tall. He raised his elbows so they were clearly OVER Sasha's head. Even if Vujacic had jumped up, he wouldn't have made contact. Sorry, but I really didn't see a problem except perhaps for Sasha's failed attempt to simulate contact. That had to be the most blatant example of floppery gone bad since Manu Ginobli.
