"He can do whatever he wants," Harpring said. "He's not going to scare me. He's going to ruin his game, and that's what he did. He started getting technicals. That's the way he wants to play. You can't play basketball that way. If you try to bully me or scare me, it's not going to happen."

What a crock of ****.

Harpring talking about how basketball should be played? The ONLY reason it was #93 being called for those technicals was because of the name above the number. Yes, Artest was being a jerk but after watching again he didn't instigate and he wasn't the one throwing the punches, slaps, etc.

I detest the Utah Jazz. I dislike their style of play and I cannot stand the thuggery.

Amick mentions that this might hurt the Kings or it might help bind them together. He also mentions Artest's antics could scare away potential trade offers. And that's my main complaint and has been all along. With Ron Artest the drama simply becomes more important than the game. If I want drama, I'll watch a movie...

Yeah Harpring and Sloan should've gotten a few techs as well. Harpring was the one with the dirty play, I mean he slammed himself into Kevin just to try to knock him over. That wasn't a screen, it was just him slamming into Kevin. The 1st technical on Ron didn't even make any sense, Harpring and he are battling for position and it gets chippy and Ron gets a tech but Harpring doesn't? That was ridiculous. They got a lot of gifts from the refs tonight. If it was in Arco they wouldn't have gotten away with half of that stuff.

I'd have to double-check, but I think this is the first flare of temper we've ever really seen on the court from Kevin Martin...

I liked this quote from KM.

Yeah I just read the article, also liked the part how he headed for the arena before everyone else to "get his mind right" because he just had "his worst game since he was a rookie"(as he put it). Kevin seems like he never backs down from any challenge and doesn't settle for bad games. Its nice to have a young player like that on this team and he's just going to keep getting better.

Matt Harpring tied up Artest under the basket and Artest flailed his arms wildly to get free. It happened again less than a minute later near the top of the key, and this time after breaking free of the armlock, Artest tried to get in Harpring's face.
Harpring looked away and the officials got in between before anything could happen. Harpring was called for a foul and Artest got a technical after the officials called both coaches to midcourt for a conference.

This is another load of crock. Oh well. This is what we get for being Kings fans.

Artest did not try to get in his face. If anything he looked like he was gonna go right on playing, dead ball or not.

But Ron Artest took the fall tonight for Matt Harpring's usual bully antics, and people think he's the King's anti-Christ. Well, I'm not jumping on any 'Ron is berzerk and should be traded yesterday because of it' bandwagon. I think I'm the only one who will say this, but: I'm not worried about Ron doing anything extreme in the near or distant future. This isnt the first time Matt F'ing Harpring has played the role of the instigator, and sure as hell wont be the last.

I forgot to mention the thing I liked best about Ron tonight was when Harpring hit Kevin and Kevin was about to go after him Ron broke it up. You could kinda see Kevin was really mad and Ron made sure nothing happened.

My reason for wanting to trade him though is less of him being a time bomb and more of he might leave for nothing or we'll give him a huge contract. I don't like either possibility. I want Bibby gone too but he won't use his opt out option this year, Ron will. We need to get some young talent out of him. Or dump Kenny. Or something. But we need to use him to accomplish 1 of our goals that will help us rebuild this team. Right now he doesn't really help us at all. But he has been getting some flare ups lately and to be honest they are kind of scary, because he still is Ron Artest and you don't know if he's going to blow a gasket or not.

Loved the Harping quote, and he remains one of my favorite take no **** players in the league. Never seen him hurt anybody. Rarely makes a dangerous play int he stick your foot under somebody or flying karate kick mode, but he isn't backing down from anybody unless you bring a gun, and maybe not even then.
