Brad Miller is a very good basketball player. We forgot that for a while.

This article seems to confirm what a lot of us suspected. I keep seeing little things like this:

He craved discipline rather than friendship from Eric Musselman, and eventually lost all respect for the coach.

If what we saw last year was what happens when players don't respect their coach, I think this year we're seeing (I hope) what can happen when the players DO respect their coach and buy into his plans...

Nice article by Voisin and it brings us a side of Brad we haven't seen in quite a while:

She (his daughter, Anniston) also inspires, infusing her father with a touch of his old swagger. Miller, who shed almost 25 pounds, who runs the floor these days with a discernible lightness of being, says he came back from his hunting trip last spring and immediately approached Kings basketball president Geoff Petrie. "I said, 'I want to make sure I don't disappoint you or myself next year,' " he continued. "I got together with (strength coach) Daniel (Shapiro) and figured out a plan of what to do."

Whatever Brad and Shapiro decided on, it sure looks as though it worked!

Welcome back, Brad Miller. You've been missed!

It is a really nice article. I'm so glad his little girl is doing fine. We can all criticize him for letting himself get out of shape and/or not trying his hardest, but, in my mind, it takes a great deal of maturity to not only own your mistakes/failures, but even more so to then do something concrete to fix it. Good for you, Brad. :)
