Sac/NoH/Rapts - rumors combined (two trades)

Nighthawk1

Starter
NoBonus and Smills got me thinking.. And yes it breaks my own rules of what I prefer for KMart but I wonder what you guys think..

Trade #1
Sac Out: Kmart + May + K9
Sac In: Okafor + Derozan + Amir Johnson

Toronto Out: Derozan + Amir Johnson + A. Wright
Toronto In: Kmart + May

NOH Out: Okafor
NOH In: K9, A. Wright

Kings Why: Defensive Stopper in Okafor, Prospect SG with good defensive and mid range potential in DeRozan who could potentially develop the long ball, and Expiring Amir Johson who can produce in our rotation immediately.

NOH Why - saves money after the year with expirings, doesn't help them immediately though.

Toronto - They get Kmart, only have to sacrafice expirings + a prospect. Deal of the year for them.

Trade #2
Sac Out: Kmart + May
Sac In: Okafor + Derozan

Toronto Out: Derozan + Bargnani
Toronto In: Kmart + May

NOH Out: Okafor
NOH In: Bargnani

Kings why: Okafor + Derozan, same as above.. We keep K9 as trade bait to pair with noci potentially..

Toronto Why: They get Kmart, but pay more for him. They keep their expirings though to pursue a center in another trade. I don't think Bargnani is a great fit up there next to Bosh.

NOH Why: They get immediate cap relief, saving $4m immedately but it's not salary that's gone after the year... Get Bargnani which might might or might not be what they're looking for in a center. They get more offensive firepower but lose defense from okafor.

How do people feel? Flame away!

So after rethinking it... I remade the trade.. With this trade we don't give up K9.

Trade #3
NOH In: Sean May, Amir Johnson, A. Wright
NOH OUt: OKafor

Why - Expirings and creates raw cap space which they covet (around $4m of raw cap space)

Kings In: Bargnani, DD, Okafor
Kings Out: Kmart, Noci

Why - Get a Prospect (DD), Okafor, and Bargnani to create a really solid front court. KMart and Noci are the only pieces to leave.

Tor In: Kmart, Noci
Tor Out: Bargnani, DD, Amir Johnson, Wright

Why - Get Kmart a dynamic scorer they are very interested in and nocioni which will likely come off the bench for them but will give them added toughness, heart, and scoring/rebounding and IMO is a much better fit for Toronto.

whoa ... we get okafor and all of the raptors front court save bosh by giving up martin and noci? That works...

if we manage to have this line up

Evans
Derozan
Amir Johnson
Thompson
Hawes/okafor

wed have a towering back court and athletic wings.. but if we get the other one where we have bargs

starting line up

Udrih
Evans
Greene/Bargnani
thompson/Brockman
Hawes/Okafor

we'd have a very good bench plus size two extra bigs..towering line up if u move thompson to SF swing bargs to PF and hawes to C.

yes Soft jumpshooting 3point trigger happy front court that would make us all pull our hair out.. but towering lengthy line up nonetheless yes?

stopped reading after you included bargnani in the trades. LOL that dude is 7 feet of softness. what are we gonna do with him? perch on the 3pt line to chuck 3s?

we can clearly get something good for kmart. he's young and a consistent 20ppg scorer.

Its not clear why NOH should make this trade. If they so want expiring's,
they can trade Peja+.. for T-Mac and save a LOT...

I had been hearing something about a Calderon for Martin trade... It was either from a hoopshype or prosportsdaily forum, but I cannot find the thread.. Had a link in it I wanted to share.. Don't remember it exactly but it was something to the effects of Calderon + filler for Martin + filler.

I don't know if that sorts out the backcourt much better. Calderon is kind of a Beno/Sergio mashup.

Calderon has Martin like efficiency but at the PG position.. Doesn't turn the ball over much, plus in set offenses he's much better at keeping others around him from too much isolation.. My only problem with this is that he's no spring chicken.. He's 28 or 29 I think..

But he's much better than Sergio, and Beno.. A couple years ago I think he had a 9 to 1 A/TO ratio which was unmatched in the NBA.. Nobody else even came close who got decent minutes. I would do the trade if I thought we could get another big man, and compete within two years... I think the other part of that deal had Amir Johnson in it which I don't think would help us much.

That must be from a Raptors fan. Kings have no use for Calderon and his bloated contract. The only way Martin goes to Toronto is in a package for a sign and trade to get Bosh.

and Bargnani is awful...

I wish I could find the article.. The guy linked an article.. Maybe it was to a blog or something though.. Was a couple weeks ago when Calderon got injured... Ahh well.. I didn't like the idea of bringing in someone so old to a rebuilding team, but after thinking about it we might not have to be rebuilding for too much longer.. So who knows.
