Successful ScenarioDue to Sacramento and Chicago being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Sacramento and Chicago had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Trade IDEvery trade made by fans is allocated a unique Trade ID which you can share with friends and fellow basketball fans to allow them to see your trade scenario. The Trade ID for this scenario is 3101781.

Why Chicago does it: Chandler is awful on offense. They have no low post scoring and when starting SAR can give you 16-20 points per game in the post. He's not a good rebounder but I think he'd be fine playing next to Chandler. The Bulls also get their big guard who can play next to Gordon(Garcia). They can get someone decent with the 19th pick. The bulls still have a ton of cap room after this trade.

Why Sacramento does it: We need shotblocking! After this trade we can draft Tyrus Thomas. When Brad first came here he was a pretty decent post defender, if he could be that again Tyrus would be the perfect complement next to him. Duhon can be our 3 point shooting PG off the bench and he's a good defender too. That is stuff we DESPERATELY need. Harrington is just salary filler. I hate giving up on SAR who has a GREAT contract and attitude and I also hate giving up on Garcia but I don't see anywhere for him to play and we need the shotblocking.

If we re-sign Bonzi the line up looks like:

Bibby/Duhon
Wells/Martin
Artest/Wells
Tyrus/Kenny(dump him for Spliff Robinson and Jeff Mcinnis)
Brad/Tyrus/Potapenko

we can sign a back up center like Lorenzen Wright with the MLE.

I sure don't think Tyrus Thomas is good enough to be a starting PF straight out of the gate.

I dig it, Elson would also be a nice option for back-up C. Not sure about Ty starting right away though.

I think Garcia could back-up Ron, and play a bit at PG and SG. But, I'd still do that deal.

It just doesn't solve our problems. And there really isn't a good enough reason for Chicago to do this. They'll get much better offers for that pick IMHO.

I think it fills some of our needs. I mean Tyrus Thomas is a good shotblocker and rebounder. Duhon is a good 3 point shooter, defender, and he can run an offense. He'd be a great fit for our team.

Might be more realistic to swap Kenny Thomas & our 19th pick for two of Chicago's tweeners & their 16th pick. Chicago can afford Kenny, and we break down Kenny's contract into smaller, shorter more manageable pieces.

It would be a coup in our favor, but not completely lopsided.

Ya I don't think Chicago does this. Why trade for SAR when you can have Tyrus Thomas or Aldridge? Good trade for the Kings though....

chicago woudn't bite. u'd have to throw brad or someone valuable in there to get the 2nd pick

I'd give them Brad instead of SAR then. I don't really know what makes Brad much more valuable then SAR though.

Mr. B-52 I have problems with this trade:

1. We're giving away SAR?
2. Miller stays?
3. Tyrus plays behind Miller? Truly laughable!

1: Yes you got to give something to get something. It's easier to get a good PF than to get a good center.
2: Yeah he stays. I'm fine if Petrie traded him too though.
3: He plays PF most of the time but he'd be the back up at C if we don't get anyone with the MLE or something like that. It's not as bad as SAR backing up Brad though because at least Tyrus can block a shot.

The Bulls are going to keep that pick unless they can get no-brainer offer for it. This isn't a no-brainer offer.

And I don't think Petrie touches any trade that includes the name Othella Harrington. I'd like having Duhon backing up Bibby, as he can play on and off the ball and is a good defender, but I don't want to give up Shareef to get him. We're already thin up front.

I would love that deal but....

I don't think there is a chance Chicago would do this. I though Thomas was the most exciting player to watch during the NCAA tournament, especially that game he had against Duke. Young, raw and athletic fits the exact mold the kings need in a player.
