Hmm... I wonder if they'll try him out on the Kings now. The longest remaining homestand is about to start with four games from the 18-26.

To be honest, I'm still going on what I saw out of him in college. I'm willing to cut him some slack right now, because he's bound to have a ton of rust on him, and not be in playing shape. If he had played in the D-League all year and still looked bad, then I'd move on. But I know he has the skills, although, one might question his dedication for not being ready to contribute, despite his roller coaster ride so far. If I'm trying to apply for a job, I don't show up in jeans and a tank top.

Last night is the game I was looking for. He had some nice passes and he was knocking down the long ball.

I do like Mo Charlo though too. If only he had a better 3pt%. He would be a nice SF.

I am pulling for the guy. I am a Royce White fan so I admit that I am probaby full of bias. As I mentioned before, he was one of the most complete players you will see play in college. He can score from anywhere on the court, he can rebound and he played good defense. Most exciting to me, he was one of the best passing big men you will see in college. While being the leading scorer at ISU, I saw him dominate games without looking towards the basket - simply feeding others for easy hoops. The Kings deperately need better passing. Ideally, he would give Gay and DMC alot of easy looks.

I do not know if he will be able to do all of these things playing the best the world has to offer each night. However, I will be cheering for him. I am a Kings fan and I am a Royce White so I guess in this case I am a double fan.

I haven't seen anything in Royce White that is any better than what the rest of the Reno Bighorns has. I say cut the man.

He has a far better Bball IQ and passing ability with the vision to make the right play, as compared to any other player at his position or size. He has a lot of upside, once he settles in

The thing that I've learned from this Royce White experiment has little to do with White. It has to do with the Kings. The DLeague team runs the system and looks more like a complete team than the pro version does. For all the talk by Malone and management, there's been little evidence of their vision on the court. When I look at these Reno recordngs, I see their ideas in practice. The fact that this does not work with the pro squad leaves some serious questions.

Charlo plays SF but you did see some of his passes right? That dude can flat out pass the ball. He's older though (31). Watching him play in the DLeague I figured he would have at least played in the NBA a little bit.

Same. Their offense is more free flowing. I was looking at their roster though and they have quite a few players in their late 20s and early 30s. Maybe also it's basically that they have nothing more to lose out on so they can play loosey goosey. Looks like they are having fun out there.

Ready or not, apparently White has been recalled.

Its a short drive, I am sure he can make it as long as he doesn't get freaked out by Donner Pass . :)

I don't want to get preachy. However, making jokes about debilitating psychiatric conditions is none too cool or appropriate IMHO.

Thanks

I suspect he is making fun of the people who signed him. Using your phrase, we just signed a guy with a "debilitating psychiatric condition."

What do you guys think White's potential is (if he overcomes his anxiety)? Possibly a good bench player for us down the line when we are evtnually a Play-Off team?

My take on Brick's comment about Donner Pass was a shake of the head, what are the Kings doing here? The merits of that thought struck me also.

I agree with you. Criticizing someone on how they play or coach is fair game. Making disparaging remarks about someones character or mental condition is weak. No one is beyond redemption or a second chance.

I suspect a point forward with a good handle and who can dish could find a spot on the Kings.

I'm impressed the Kings are giving Royce White a chance to play in the NBA.

You fence sitter you! :D

We are all fence sitters right now! Seriously, how many people are anticipating this? Will Royce impress us in this home game? And can he do his job on the road? This could be the biggest splash how he can overcome his obstacles, and he can even overshadow Jason Collins coming "out"!
Come on Kingsfans, let's sit on the fence and watch.
