Roy Jones is dead (figuratively)

This is sad. Im a stoic man, but here I am nearly in tears over a sporting contest.

And here is the Roy himself getting embarassed by Glen Johnson. This wasn't a one-punch miracle. This was a slow, cement-footed Roy Jones being outworked and outboxed by Glen Johnson, a guy who was tailor made for the Roy of old. A slow charging bull without great punching power should have been countered and picked apart by Roy. Now he's forcing Roy to the ropes and landing through sheer numbers.

On his way down after a clean right, Roy's head bounced off the mat and he suffered a concussion. Now he's being urged to go to the hospital, and hasn't left his seat 30 minutes after the fight ended.

As Merchant said, some people take joy in Roy's misery because he's been so 'arrogant' and 'primdonna-like' (his words) throughout his career, but tonight was tragic. 'The death of a king''.

This REALLY sucks. Whether you love or hate Roy, you have to respect his greatness, and if nothing else, were hoping for a 3rd Tarver fight. Instead, Tarver is in the crowd yapping away on his cell phone looking like a fighter leaps and bounds ahead of the bum lying on the mat.

So long Roy, thanks for the memories.
