Rondo Shares Keys to Resurgence

The Kings’ most-frequently-utilized five-man unit – featuring Rondo alongside DeMarcus Cousins, Rudy Gay, Ben McLemore and Willie Cauley-Stein – has recorded a 43.6 net rating –125.8 offensive and 82.3 defensive – with a 61.2-percent true-shooting percentage in 33 minutes of court-time, according to NBA.com.

Umm.

Holy crap? I mean, it's a small sample size and we don't know who the opponents were, but +43.6?!?

That is absolutely insane.

This is the starting lineup I presume a lot of people envisioned before the season started. The question marks were Ben and Willie. Would Ben get it together and how long would it take WCS to catch on.

Well a positive is that lineup will only get better.

In theory.

What was interesting to me was that he praises Karl publicly unprovoked.
Karl's trust on Rondo and subsequently gives him the freedom on the court has a lot to do with his success. It's obvious that Karl doesn't micromanage Rondo and is letting him run the offense as the floor general.

Injuries, suspension, Ben being terrible first few games, WCS being rookie, etc., and making time for DC on the court.

Cauley-Stein played 8 minutes tonight. McLemore played 19. As far as I know, neither one is either injured or suspended. We just allowed a team to score 127 points against us and it wasn't Golden State. George Karl may have made that his starting lineup but he rarely comes back to it in the 4th quarter which tells you how little confidence he has in that unit's ability to win games. Why not give it a try? What we're doing now -- 3 guards, a SF, and Cuz -- is a dumpster fire and yet here we are, 5-10, losing games to middle of the pack Eastern Conference teams and he's still running back to that well. I don't want George Karl fired but the longer this goes on the easier it is to speculate on the possibility of putting any warm body on the sideline who'll simply put their best lineup on the floor and get out of the way.

He didn't even come back to it to start scone half. They usually get first 6-7 min together then it's spotty after that. I would like to see Karl play each man at their position and each bench player as a bench player at their position. Just one game. Let collison and Marco and casspi said just get 16 min one night. Let the starters all get 30+
