Ron Artest

No, his performance wasn't stellar as far as the stat line is concerned but when is the last time you saw a gutsier performance by someone who was playing at maybe 70%???

The same night with Shareef.

Playing at 20-some-odd pounds down, asked to play out of position, covering guys that are bigger than him at the C spot ... and playing down to some fraction of his normal self ... but played solid on both ends.

Ron Artest is a warrior, no doubt. But, give credit fairly across the board.

Cisco was being interviewed by I think Gary Gerould, after the game and one of the questions Gary (or whoever was conducting the interview) asked was, "Ron came up to you during the game with about 5 to 6 minutes left and said something to you, what was it he said ?"

Cisco replied, "He told me this game was over and to start preparing for the next game".

At first, I didn't know what to think of this, then realized that it could've meant to "relax, don't hurt yourself - let's just finish the game'.

Other thoughts went thru my mind. One in particular, cockiness ... but, I don't think Ron thinks that way.

Just something I found interesting ...

Was this after Friday's game? If so, then maybe Artest was saying that Cisco should study Utah's lineup and defense/offense.

Cisco played like a man posessed after that! Maybe Ron knows reverse psychology (not a bad bet, since he basically LIVES reverse psychology)

Oh please.

I have repeatedly commented about SAR's playing, his gutsiness on the court, etc.

This thread is titled Ron Artest, in case it escaped your notice. Hence my talk about ... brace yourself ... Ron Artest.

I can't imagine Ron not guarding Gasol tomarrow. It'll be nice too if Bonzi plays, anybody know if he'll be in the line-up? I hope he burns Fratellos squad just to put it back in his face. Plus, MF benched Bobby Jackson for Chucky Atkins!!!!! After BJax totally proved that he deserves the start. Hey MF: Ron and Bonzi are gonna burn you tomarrow!

Bobby has been benched?

Oh, lord...

The Arco faithful will NOT like that. I know I don't...

Mike Fratello: Shooting franchises in the foot on a regular basis as long as he's been in the league.

No Bobby is bad for Bobby but good for the Kings. I hope Fratello doesn't come to his senses, for the sake of the Kings.

Only reason I can think of is to limit his minutes so it won't wear on him, as he's had hamstring problems since December. Still pretty strange though.

About Bonzi, I doubt he's back after one game out.. I hope he's back for the Phoenix game though, he always kills them. :)

Yeah, MF had Chucky start in a Loss Sat. to the Bucks. But for 16 mins and a scoreless outing he gave Bobby the rest of the game but it was too late. I can't stand MF. LoL ... MF.

Yeah but that's one game, so who knows. Unless he publicly stated Chucky will be the starter now, which I haven't heard.

That's true. And given opponents' propensities for carreer #'s at Arco, he'd be stooooopid not start him. But as long as Ron's on the floor, the team as a whole is probably going to put a stop to that trend. **knock on wood**

I think it's possible B-Jax starts (whether Chucky is the starter now or not) because he's returning to Sac. Like how Barnes was taken off the inactive list just for the Arco return, just before he was waived.

I just answered your question.

You asked when was the last time you saw a gutsier performance by someone at 70%, I answered.

It was, as I'm pretty sure you already know, a rhetorical question...

Just for you, however, I'm starting a new thread...
