Stranger things have happened.

PW is clearly giving up early, love him.
No pun intended...

Or you could lose 65 games and still end up in the worst possible position
Of course that worked out for the best for us.
Yes, but the beauty of that was that BECAUSE we lost 65 games, we could not drop any further.
We absolutely 100% got Tyreke Evans by being so awful. A couple more wins and we end up picking 6th and maybe nabbing Johnny Flynn.
SOunded like it.
Though if we got the 1st pick, we would have ended up with Blake Griffin.
That's the Kings, nothing is guaranteed.Though if we got the 1st pick, we would have ended up with Blake Griffin.
Unless we GET him, then it's open season, right?Yeah...I figure, that's my one. I'm not going to make any more Favors/favor puns. Self imposed moratorium, as it's WAY too easy.
But I burned my one at a good time.
Or not.
The beauty of picking #1, or as high as possible, is it opens up MORE doors, not less. You take Griffin. Or you take Reke. Or you trade down and take Reke.
What did he say?
Not so sure. Couple more wins and would have still only been tied w/Washington. And even then, if Washington were ahead of us, they probably wouldn't have traded out of the 4 spot w/Minnesota. Washington still might have passed on Evans. I don't think they were dying to get him, otherwise they wouldn't have traded out of the 5 spot.
True true. Though, I can only imagine how the Grizzlies and Clippers feel about passing on Reke (The Thunder notsomuch. I don't think there would be enough shots to go around between Westbrook, Durant, Reke and Green to be viable.).

I know the Grizzles definitely regret it, but we still don't know what Griffin will do next season. And let's be fair, if we had the #1 pick, we would have picked Griffin. No question about it.

Except there's still two issues before you get to that conclusion of what Minnesota would do: Whether Washington gets the 4th pick w/2 more wins. (Maybe after a coin flip). And whether Washington trades w/Minnesota if they have the 4th pick. (Maybe).
Who wanted him badly? Minnesota? I'm not contesting that. I'm saying they would never have gotten the chance to draft Evans if Washington got the 4th pick and the Kings had the 5th.
Minnesota needed to trade to get Washington's 5th pick. If Washington had the 4th pick, it would have been much more valuable and the asking price might have been more than what Minnesota wanted to give for #4.
On top of that, there's still more issues to work out in the hypothetical, like, with the new arrangement of ping pong balls, maybe the Kings move up in the draft to #1 instead of falling to 5.
