Rock Band Draft - Round 6 (Wrap Up)

I had another drummer chosen for my next pick, originally, but while doing research I stumbled into this drummer who somehow I had overlooked when I was making my list. So for my next pick, I choose:

tommy_lee.jpg

Tommy Lee - Drummer/Backup Vocals - (Motley Crue, Methods of Mayhem, Rockstar Supernova)

One of the driving forces behind Motley Crue during their heydays, and a really talented musician. Hey Brick, does this mean that we can get Pamela Anderson(in her prime) as a groupie too?

I just now realized Danny Carey was taken.

I despise Tool, and think they (more specifically their vocal style) drag and are horribly boring, but my goodness is he a good drummer.

Again.

!@#%!@%$

I have two picks to find a new !#%$123 drummer.
...Nice attention to detail Slab.

I gave him some thought because he can sing a little and for a while I was going to make sure all my members could sing.

I saw Tommy's band at the Boardwalk in Orangevale a few years back. Took my kid brother who has a little more, well, softer taste in music.

It was brutally loud - and all kinds of maniacs jumping around with their horns up in the air - and you could see the terror on my brother's face - like he thought blood would come squirting out the sprinklers like the scene from Blade.

It was bitchin.

Ha!

I love the Boardwalk.
That place is totally awesome!

I suppose this means I'm up. ;)

I have a very diverse group of musicians, and I'm going to need someone who can best assemble these sounds and use his post-production skills to really create a unique sound.

My next pick is described as a musician, singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist.

For his first recordings:

"Inspired by Prince, he played all the instruments except drums himself."

Kicked butt in the mudpile that was Woodstock '94...

Trent Reznor - Synthesizer/Piano/Post-Production

I assigned him to synthesizer/piano to create some kickass overlays that would be created by Satriani and Prince. Whatever music comes from this group will be both super rockin', and groovy enough to get even the homeliest of lonely men in good favor with the ladies.

Knowing that Trent enjoys being in the background, he'll have no problem in this role.

Hey, we actually agree on something :p

And it will sound like Quake! :D

Nice pick.

My 4th member:
Johnny Thunders - Rhythm/2nd Lead Guitar & Backup vocals (associated acts: New York Dolls, The Heartbreakers, Solo artist
band2.jpg

With Quine doing lead full time, Johnny will primarily be contributing rhythm guitar and vocals, which we will call "back up" for now. When I pick my vocalist next my demonic master plan will come to fruition and it may also better explain the Orr pick :)

Since again I'm figuring most here don't know Johnny I'll post a few clips later, but want to keep things moving along while I have a brief pause in my day.

I think I can guess who you will be picking up for lead vocals with Quine and Thunders in your group.

It won't be any of them.

I'll just hint that the "primary" vocalist for my act is the main reason I needed a new wave bassist. Its also the reason I needed a singing bassist. And his voice is completely distinct from both Thunders and Orr. Which is all part of my genius descent into crash and burn hell with this band.

Hmmm... intriguing... then you are correct, it will not be any of the five of whom I am thinking. I cannot wait to see your pick!

Awesome, I missed that you had picked him! One of the most distinctive guitarists ever. I'm another old school punk fan, so I've enjoyed looking through your choices in the music drafts.
Thanks, I agree, he is my centerpiece, which is why he was exempted from one of the key requirements of all the other artists I selected.

Outstanding. Almost as good as my next choice.

I think you mis-understand me. My taste in music is really diverse... just because I have compiled the most evil perfect hard rock band of all time does not mean I do not appreciate other genres of music.
Its not a genre thing, more a wtf is he thinking kind of thing. Sometimes I wonder myself. But the real fun for me will be in putting it all together at the very end and seeing if my final "sales pitch" can convince anybody.

wow adrenaline is pumping... I feel like I'm at a restaurant and the waitress is taking so long that I keep changing my mind about what I want. This is most definitely a fork in the road - some famous hotshots out there to try and win votes with big names, and then there's being true to an artistic vision... tough.

Take all the time you need SLAB... I'm still deciding whether to build the band I want to see, or to build the band I want to sell tickets for OTHERS to see.

I'm going with the former. My original 4th member is still available. I'm still trying to decide on the 5th

I have a similar situation with my group... but I did not switch my 4th member because of popularity, but because, once I stole JPJ it made more sense.

Trent Reznor - Synthesizer/Piano/Post-Production

Okay, here is the thing. Post production does not really count in a live performance. I am assuming that you are talking about him sequencing the guitar parts or maybe using samples of their guitar. Does it work for you if we call it sequencing?

No problem. Sequencing is fine.
