Artest says Nuggets are not in his future
The Rocky Mountain News
Monday, July 14, 2008

The Nuggets considered trading for Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest in February, and he's again on the trading block.

Artest wrote in e-mails to the Rocky Mountain News that he doesn't want to play for Denver...

Oh goody. Now he's sending emails to newspapers in other cities, telling them he won't play for them?

Nice job, Artest. Mark Twain once said, "It is better to remain silent and appear stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." You might want to think about that.

And to think, the new iPhones came out this week. Looks like Ron was first in line. If he really wants out of Sacramento, he's not helping his cause. A trip to Denver would be great. Camby, Artest, Iverson, Anthony..yikes. If he thinks about it for a second, Denver's probably one of the better places to showcase his ability to get a team over the hump and get that long term deal.

Is there anyone Artest isn't emailing these days? He's corresponding more than Oscar Wilde in his prime. At this rate, he may miss the year with carpal tunnel.

The league should require Artest to have an agent... he should not be representing himself to other teams via local news media, just so unprofessional... I think the Kings NEED to trade him to Miami or New York so he can permenantly cement his NBA legacy as a complete LOSER.

How about Balkman and Rose (NYK) for Artest and Douby?

we totally deserve deserve all this and everything else to come

you play with fire - you get burned

Oh please. NO ONE deserves all this. Yes, everyone with a pulse knows you hated the trade. YOU AREN'T THE ONLY ONE. So please, could you not turn every thread into the same thing?

This isn't about the trade. That boat sailed, crashed on the rocks and was lost. We - THE FANS - didn't pull the trigger on the trade. WE are NOT to blame and we do not deserve this. Even the people who wanted to have faith in Artest aren't to blame. RON ARTEST IS TO BLAME.

We're talking about the now - and with more than a little disbelief in spite of the ominous warnings.

If you don't want to participate, no problem. Just find a different thread.

Not really. Short of him being a defensive presence in a team with a lot of offense, Artest would be 3rd option behind Anthony and Iverson. Not only would he be the third option, but he would be the third option in front of two players that need the ball to be effective. It's one of the worst positions to go to actually. Their best player plays the same natural position as Artest. It's been thrown around that Ron can play the 2 or 4, but he loses most of his quickness advantages at the 2, and loses his strength advantage at the 4.

He's just trying to poison any deal with any team that he doesn't want to go to. He figures by saying I don't want to play there he automatically knows the fan reaction will be negative if he went there, and the team wouldn't want that, also who wants to trade for somebody who is instantly unhappy with where he's at, especially if that person is Ron Artest.

"I cannot play in Denver because they question my drive to finish my career off strong and not embarrass my family," Artest wrote.

Artest has made it clear he wants to go to a team that is committed to him...
When has Artest ever committed to anything regarding his career?
When has Artest ever been averse to embarrassing his family?

Yep...you can just see things going this way. Ron is just a toxic cocktail, unpredictable, unprofessional, and he is going to make Geoff's job so much harder until we just pull the trigger on something, anything, to end this. Meanwhile it erodes our leverage and bargaining power. But hey, Ron's nuttiness is finally working for him -- he basically has a trade veto because if he doesn't want to play for you he'll burn your franchise down.

Let me guess what teams Ron wants to play for: L.A or New York (but mainly for the Lakers cause they have Kobe and Lamar).
