in the bee bobby said this "He would rather be here than anywhere" and he wants to play 2 more years at the MINIMUM! if he stays healthy.....i dont have a problem at all for resigning him for 2 more years cheap!

Let's see what he has left first -- he has looked a half step from done these last few years, and age cna run you down quick in your mid 30s. After that...if its for the minimum, maybe. Certainly when you are trying to clear cap room you would not want to waste any of it on an old guy like Bobby. Maybe another 1 yr deal or something so we can maintain flexibility.

Even if he is #3 on the PG depth chart next year or whatever, I would have no problems signing him for the vet minimum (which he said he'd accept) for a couple years and move him up into coaching (if he shows the desire and aptitude). He is one of those veteran locker room guys that would be a great help for Reggie. And at the vet min, I would think you could do a lot worse....

I'm not willing to hold up our young guys anymore than we have to. While I am happy to see Bobby Jackson back I'd rather see Singletary play this year as 100% of the backup, even with his inexprience. There's only one way to get experience ...play.

I doubt we'd do that to him -- I really do. And clearly he's not the sort of guy who can bring you back kids or picks, and adding him to a package doesn't change that. The one thing he WOULD be useful for in a package, would be if we used him + another guy (say John) to trade for a major player with a $12 million a year salary or some such. But that's exactly backwards of where we seem to hopefully be going now.

I really don't see anyone wanting Bobby at this point in his career other then us. He's not going to get another contract at more then the minimum and, like it was said, the vet min is a very small price to pay for a great locker room presence and leader for the new guys like Bobby.

i think that no matter his play as long as he doesnt get hurt, the question to sign him is to mentor the younger players and especially the point guard. I think he'll be able to get the team to gell and he will be resigned

It would be dumb to trade him...If he signs for minimum which he said he would, we would be losing like 5 mil off our own cap and keeping a still solid backup pg which we need. I think the only thing that is going to hold his production back is his playing time. He improved by almost 1.5 points when he moved to Houston so the team he is on has alot to do with how much he is scoring. And considering we don't really have a "main scorer" other than K-Mart Bobby should be able to find his way to score a little more than 8.8 ppg like he did in Houston...thats if we give him the time thoe.

No contender team is going to need Bobby and i think he would rather feel wanted than to play on a contender. He'll receive a HUGE standing ovation when he gets back in Arco, and were the only team that will give that to him and he knows that. Plus, in 3 years who knows...maby we can be a contender in 3 years and Bobby can have the satisfaction of helping build our team into that contender...which is a better feeling than going to a team who is already good and could have won it without you. Plus if Bobby was really serious about coaching and we wanted him he'd be apart of our future contending Kings even if he did retire before it happened.

Im sure there are plenty of competing teams that would love what he brings to the table including his locker room presence. In his interview with Bryan may, Bobby sounded a lil down that he was going to a rebuilding team, but at the same time was happy because it was the kings. I know he loves it in sacramento, but I still feel he would like to chase that elusive championship ring.

He was underpaid when he was here before. If he can contribute on the court this year I see no reason to not keep him around for 2 years at the minimum. He's a class act and the Kings could show some class by paying the guy to stay around for a few years with all the youngin's, even if he lost his step and can't play much.

Petrie is pretty loyal to his players, unless he has a reason not to be, and even then, he'll try to trade them somewhere they would like to go. If Bobby wanted to come back here and end his career here, as he stated, then its probably not an accident that he was included in the trade.

So, I doubt he will turned over into another trade. I just don't think Petrie would do that to him. Whether he can work out a future commitment at a reasonable price is debatable. But I think he'll try.

Rather than speculate what you think he wants to do, why don't you read what he said he wants to do?

Sure the Bee may say that, but what I am refering to is an interview he had on fox 40. I thought it was on news 10 but it was on fox. He was asked about the trade and he said "would I like to be in houston on a playoff contender and maybe an nba championship quailty team, yes of course. but everyone would like that... when asked about the rebuilding mode, "he said its tough, you always wanna win". He also did say he likes it here in sacramento.

So me thinking he might go to a contender after this year is not pure speculation.
