NEW YORK -- Washington Wizards teammates Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton drew guns on each other during a Christmas Eve locker room argument over a gambling debt, according to The New York Post.

What a bunch of idiots. There should be an I.Q. test for owning a gun. Bunch of milionaire wannabe gangsters -- somebody should have walked over, taken their toys away, and slapped them silly. What are they going to do, be the first millionaire NBA players to cap somebody?

Pathetic.

Both should be suspended for the year. If Artest was and Birdman was. You tell me what is worse. Drugs, fighting with fan, or 2 guys with guns in each others face just a trigger pull away from ending a guys life.

i wonder if they will take it that far...

Makes me glad that our team appears to like each other so much that this kind of crap will never happen. Unless Noc gets unhappy and decides to pull out a .44 on Spencer, who then retaliates with a m16. Then out of nowhere gangsta Kenny Thomas whips out a uzi and guns them all down. But that would never happen.... right?

So, wait...

A story comes out a while back about Arenas "storing" guns in his locker at the arena because he didn't want them around his kids, and he's allowed to keep them there just in case he has to draw down on a teammate over a GAMBLING DEBT??????

These guys need to be kicked out of the league now. There is no way that should ever be acceptable behavior at the work place...ever.

It's a freaking basketball league and in a professional environment, no place for guns at all

I think the NBA is in need of a Roger Goodell kind of Commissioner.

Of course, we could all be looking at it the wrong way. Maybe this is just advance publicity for the new video game: Grant Theft 2K11-NBA

*shakes head*

there are plenty of guys out there would love to get paid to play ball and here these guys are doing foolish things. kick em out of the league stern! if nothing is done, what does that say to the rest of the league and potential players?

I can't wait to see how they try and spin this story.

They should be kicked out of the league, but that crook Stern won't do it.

Think of it as your normal job.. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND BRINGS A GUN TO WORK!!?? (unless you are in law enforcement or security)...

They need to be arrested, and banned from the NBA for this.. In any other workplace environment these people would be thrown in jail, and most definitely fired...

Washington Wizards

Where Amazingly stupid happens...

at VF21's idea of grandtheft nba 2k11

LOL I'd buy that. Shaq wasn't reserve police at L.A or something? It can be a really good game ahahaha

I read the article and all I can say to Arenas is.......sorry, but the media could not possibly make up stuff like this. It is too bizarre.

I agree that if this happened at any other workplace, they would have been fired first and investigated afterward. What the hell are they waiting for?

There's something like $90M left on Arenas' contract. At no other workplace would you have to continue to pay your employee $90M after firing them.

But I'd be willing to bet that the Wizards are looking closely into the possibility of voiding his contract. If they have the legal recourse to do it, I assume at this point (the crossroads of Arenas' injury concerns and dropping NBA revenues) they would do it. But if the Wizards remain on the hook for $90M, they won't cut him. Not gonna happen.

I know that the "guaranteed" contracts are a hindrance. But, surely there is a way to void contracts under such situations. I certainly hope so. Agreed that they must be looking into it...if they are not crazy.

The crappy part is that idiot lawyers would be all over that if the Wizards tried to void his contract too.. If I was a judge in that case I would basically say "VOID!".. You just don't bring guns to work unless you are a cop or a guard... Or in the military. Idiot lawyers will probably fight for him though... The lawyers need a hefty dose of guns in their office to realize what's right and WAYYYYY wrong.

they need to put in conditions in contracts like any felony proven guilty and misbehaviour can reduce salary to a said amount or.... can be terminated
