great move
I just started a thread about this containing a link to the article. Can a mod please merge both threads into one??????
me too. i think he will overtake Jimmer on the depth chart before the season even starts (if Jimmer is still on the team)Good move. We can send McCallum Down, assuming he doesn't pull an Isaiah. I think that kid has potential.
Good move. Wonder if this is the model of the future - where the development teams are basically the minor leagues with the ability to send players up or down, based on need. It was frustrating in the past to watch Hassan Whiteside not get much playing time, when that was exactly what he and the Kings needed!
The acquisition of Chris Granger and the Reno Bighorns? GREAT moves. I am becoming more impressed all the time. Our owner is serious, folks. It's gonna be fun!
Back to McCallum, I think people will be surprised at how athletic he is. I haven't looked at the three videos but as I remember he has a little baby fat yet can really elevate. That doesn't make him a great PG but, as one who isn't convinced IT is a great PG either, this could be quite a battle for the minutes. I hope he is at least the equal of IT as a leader as the extra few inches in height will be useful. I am not trying to start a battle of "who's better" like has been going on forever but clearly the team comes out ahead if McCallum can be a rotational PG. I just looked at the videos. He must have a decent wingspan.
McCallum was a top ten McDonalds all american coming out of highschool. He was recruited by many of the top colleges in the country, including UCLA. The fact that he decided to go play for his dad in a mid level conference, doesn't take away from his abilities. He could end up being an absolute steal.
