Regular Season GPAs (based on Brick's grades)

First off, we all know Brick is no pushover when it comes to doling out A's, so it's no wonder that not a single player has above a 3.0 for the season. Secondly, I doubt many of us would average a 3.0 if we had 82 classes per semester. Still, I think this is very interesting...hopefully you will too, as it took me a long time to add it all up. A fairly accurate depiction of each player's season, in a nutshell (and Adelman, too!).

Note: there were a couple games that were missed, or that were graded by someone other than Brick...I just tossed those out the window, so as to keep the same grading standards throughout the season.

HEAD OF THE CLASS

Bonzi Wells - 2.95 (1 A+, 1 F) - too bad he wasn't healthy more often, he's really flourishing here

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Adelman - 2.81 (1 A+, 1 F) - all in all, a great example of fine coaching- deserves a new contract
Artest - 2.67 (1 A+, 1 F) - turned the team around, saved our season, being a good boy
Shareef - 2.65 (2 A+'s, 1 F) - deserves his playoff spot for all his hard work
Bibby - 2.62 (4 A+'s, 4 F's) - up-and-down, but best year overall stat-wise, still clutch as ever

MIDDLE OF THE PACK

Miller - 2.60 (0 A+'s, 5 F's  ) - lots of off nights, streaky year, but how about them 3's?
Corliss - 2.55 (0 A+'s, 0 F's) - lots of minutes early, bench leader down stretch
Martin - 2.47 (1 A+, 4 F's) - developing into a fine young player/the future, still trying to regain pre-injury form
Skinner - 2.46 (0 A+'s, 0 F's) - effective in short stints early, off to greener pastures (and summer vacay)

STILL SOMETHING TO BE DESIRED

Thomas - 2.40 (1 A+, 3 F's) - inconsistent other than the rebounds, ugly shot
Garcia - 2.37
(0 A+'s, 2 F's) - not bad at all for a rookie, hit the wall a bit, but promising for future
Hart - 2.17 (0 A+'s, 2 F's) - becoming less of a damper, great defense, shooting within the offense more

WHAT THE....

Peja - 1.95 (0 A+'s, 4 F's) - glad we got rid of him if wasn't going to try, thanks for the memories

INCOMPLETES

Price (2.22 average in 6 games with decent amount of PT) - I love the little guy
Monia (no significant minutes) - not really sure what he even looks like
Sampson (no significant minutes) - I wanna talk to Sampson!! Maybe next year?
Potapenko (no significant minutes) - The big lug...maybe we'll see you more in the playoffs

Thanks to Brick for all the hard work all year...let's GO KINGS!!! Raise your GPAs for the real season!!!

Fantastic job/analysis, KingCookie. You get an "A" from me.

And, to Bricklayer, an A+. The time put in on your analysis of about 80 games gets you an A. The quality and fairness in your standard, applied to everyone on the roster, gets the +.

Three cheers for Bricklayer!

And lastly, to VF21, an A++. To give up sitting back, relaxing and enjoying Kings games so you can have both hands, with fingers flying across the keyboard, telling Kings fans everywhere what your eyes are seeing....and describing it in a way that only a Kings fan can truly appreciate.......well, my friend, no words can adequately convey what your selflessness has meant to many members of KingsFans.com (and non-members who lurk just to get your accounting of our guys' play).

Untold gratitude to VF21!!

I can't believe you compiled all of that...I am shocked, amazed, stupified, and thoroughly impressed. Great job.

Boy, we're mediocre! How about grading on a curve, Brick?

That is interesting. I thought Bibby would have been higher. Thanks for doing all that work KC, it must have taken a while.

I thought so too, then remembered that Bibby was really in a slump for a bit at the beginning of the season. Way better down the stretch. Good timing. :D

I guess he thought too highly of him and the expectations were inflated.

... or ...

Stojakovic only played during the dismal first half of the year when most of the team was playing poorly and getting lower grades.

wow , brick's Pedja scale was a little off............

When your 20ppg scorer averages 16ppg on 40% shooting, then gets traded and goes right back to being a 20ppg scorer on 46% shooting -- no, the scale was not off. Peja was off.
