Rasheed Wallace named to All-Star team.

All-Star
I won't post the article because most of you already know what it says by now, but what a friggin snub to Hedo, or Josh Smith.. That's BS that a 12ppg 7rpg guy can make it over Hedo.

I agree.

Hedo deserved it more than anybody else, and the Pistons having three All-stars? Come on man. Maybe I could see Crash or JSmoove over Hedo, and I would still be disappointed, but Rasheed? Sometimes I just don't know about this whole commissioners picking All-Star replacements thing.

While I can't understand the choice completely, it just MIGHT be some kind of reward to Sheed for cleaning up his act. When's the last time you saw him losing it and getting t'd up? Sending him to the fun might be Stern's way of showing gratitude. Since it's a popularity contest anyway for the most part, I don't really have a problem with this selection.

My problem is with the basic concept of fan voting, which is so easily manipulated it's just bizarre.

hmmmmmm, having a personality that doesn't suck as much anymore as a rationalle for overlooking a game that doesn't dazzle as much anymore....?

I still don't get it.

The guy has spent his entire career being overrated, but now it has begun to reach comical heights. Part of the annual "the Pistons are good so they must have lots of All Stars right?" Eastern Conference travesty.

I'm not saying, of course, that was the reason. It was simply the ONLY one - lame as it might be - that I could come up with.

;)

Anyone who truly believes that the most deserving players go to the All-Star game hasn't been watching the All-Star Game for about 10 years now.

The fact that Rasheed is going is irrelevant, especially if you're wondering why guys like Hedo or Josh Smith aren't going. They're not going because they aren't / their team isn't as popular as Wallace and his team. And because the NBA doesn't realize that getting Turkoglu and Smith some national exposure would actually be good for the League.

Then again, I don't think many people actually watch the All-Star game anymore. I'm personally going to be more interested in the 3-Point Contest this season. Seriously.

but.... usually it is the FANS that vote in the undeserving chumps. I am not sure WHAT the explanation is in THIS case.

We may well be trying to read too much into this. He may have just thrown a dart at a board. I really think David Stern has many more pressing matters on his plate than naming a replacement player to the All-Star Game.

It might be he's doing it just to stir things up.

:p

If anything it was to spite Sheed. Everybody knows he lobbies for those days off mid season all the time...

Fact is, he is the most important Piston, but IMHO, you guys are right, Hedo should have made it.

Hedo was snubbed AGAIN. This time Caron Butler pulled out and Sugar Ray Allen took his spot. I can understand that if Juice were a guard, but he isn't. Come on Stern, grow a pair, and as soon as Jkidd gets traded get Hedo to replace him.

I think this was a horrible pick for him to go. I think that Hedo deffinately should have gone over him. This deffinately shows how corruptes the NBA is in its All Star selection process.
