This is important. Anything can happen lol i just hope a team like the Mavs doesn’t get the ultimate prize(This doesn’t actually change our lotto odds, it just shifts the floor)

I’m so pumped we won some of those extra games. Who needs lottery balls when you have WINNING CULTURE!
Ainge rather famously does not have a pretty good draft history. He does a good job of collecting swings at the piñata and managed to hit a leg hard enough for a couple of pieces of candy to fall out every once in a while though.
Seems like we've won about 80% of the coin flips we've been in over the last decade. Can't win 'em all.We can't even win a damn coin flip. SMDH![]()
I'm not 100% on this, but I think if we jump Utah in the Lottery then Utah's second round pick will slip in front of ours. But if that happens, we won't care, I promise.Actually as much as I despise this organization, in many ways this flip was okay. It really only matters if we both fail to make the top 4 which could happen but could well not. By loosing we do get our 2nd round pick in front of Utah for sure.
The highest probability of getting Ben McLemore, Jason Williams, Bobby Hurley, Walt Williams or Lionel Simmons. Of course beloved Killian Hayes was also a 7th overall pick. Woo woo!
The funniest possible outcome for tanking discourse lol
You guys need to stop spinning the Tankathon simulator, you're using up all of our luck.
I think for some folks it’s like a Tibetten prayer wheelYou guys need to stop spinning the Tankathon simulator, you're using up all of our luck.
It would help spread the karma, as Utah is still mad at Sacramento for tanking Jimmer's path to superstardom... having to give us AJ might rip a hole in the space-time continuum starting in downtown Salt Lake City.

I don't they're mad about us drafting him, but rather made with us "ruining his career. Nevermind that he had peaked in college like a Texas high school FB player.Wait, what? Is this actually a thing? Utah had the third overall pick that year and we took Jimmer 10th. If they really wanted him they could have drafted him at #3 or traded down. It's not like there was a ton of "can't miss" talent in that 2011 draft either. They took Enes Kanter and ended up trading before the end of his rookie contract.

They probably blame us for Jimmer even being on that team in the first place instead of his rightful place on the actual men’s team roster.Do you think they blame us for the USA 3v3 Basketball team headlined by Jimmer going 0-3 in the Paris Olympics too?
All true, but apparently there is quite a bit of resentment in some quarters. There was an article out in the last couple of days that I ran across and I was surprised too.Wait, what? They also trust Scott Perry (looooong time front office exec) and BJ Armstrong (ex-agent) more than they do past front offices (*coughcough* Vlade)Agents are probably a little more at ease with the Kings since they started to play the young guys, but no, ain't a single agent hoping their guy goes to the Kings and a few will without question play games to make sure they don't go to Sac. The recent use of Carter alone probably did some damage. Ellis as well.
Agreed. TDOS is an entertainment desert.Seems like alias "D.A. Sweat" is just one particularly disgruntled BYU fan who writes for a BYU Sports Blog and a Carolina Panthers blog. Jimmer also played for Chicago, New Orleans, New York (Knicks), and Phoenix and didn't impress in any of those stops either. Even as a Sacramento Kings fan, there's a part of me that doesn't want any of these players to get saddled with our dysfunctional organization. Which makes it a rather lazy article to write. Team is bad and has been bad for awhile and also, a previous BYU star went there and had a disappointing career. Okay. If AJ Dybantsa is as good as many of us think he is, it shouldn't matter which team drafts him.
I know you're just posting this argument, not making it yourself, so I'm not responding to you so much as the concept posed by this article in general. It merits little more than an eyeroll. This writer doesn't seem to know anything about any of our players aside from what the internet told them. And surely a similar resume of ineptitude could be compiled for the other 4 or 5 teams most likely to end up with Dybanta.
Amick reported Monday that "a heavy frontrunner has emerged among the three proposed solutions":
"Option No. 1, in which 18 teams would be part of the draft lottery (rather than the current 14) and the bottom 10 teams would all have an 8 percent chance of landing the No. 1 pick. The remaining odds — 20 percent in all — would be divided among the remaining eight teams. In the current system, the bottom three teams all have a 14 percent chance of landing the No. 1 pick and the odds decline from there."
Which means we'd better hit this year, because next year the Small Market Penalty kicks in and we won't have much hope of building via the draft anymore.
The Option 1. proposal only mentions flattening the odds for the #1 pick. It's unclear how the odds for picks 2-5 will be affected, and in my mind those picks are still worth targeting.Which means we'd better hit this year, because next year the Small Market Penalty kicks in and we won't have much hope of building via the draft anymore.
I guess it's just as well that we've sucked building via the draft anyway, right?
Unless they're doing something really different than the current setup, the odds for all the lottery-selected picks will be based on the number of combos that a team has, so the odds (for teams 1-10) would be flat all the way down as far as they draw. The Option 1. proposal only mentions flattening the odds for the #1 pick. But yeah, I'm not a fan of Option 1. I like Option 2 (lottery position determined by 2 year moving average)
It seems like the appeal of Option 1 to the NBA is because it's the most boring option. It's the least creative way to address tanking.Unless they're doing something really different than the current setup, the odds for all the lottery-selected picks will be based on the number of combos that a team has, so the odds (for teams 1-10) would be flat all the way down as far as they draw.
There was talk of drawing every single pick between 1-18 but I don't remember if that is part of Option 1, or if they would still intend to do that.
A trained monkey could do a better job than Silver.Which means we'd better hit this year, because next year the Small Market Penalty kicks in and we won't have much hope of building via the draft anymore.
