You’ll never guess who Indiana plays tonight
30 game to go and there are 8-10 teams intentionally trying to lose. Bad teams are fine, developing young players is fine. Sitting vets, faking injuries, playing 2 way players over rostered players, trading players that help you win. It’s heightened this year because it’s a historical draft and several teams have pick protections but this can’t be how the NBA operates
Not every team has Ethical Tank Gods like Deebo, Zach, and Westbrook.

Andrew Luck maybe. Maybe the long hair pretty boy QB from Clemson.Indeed, I just think it’s crap. I can’t think of a time when a third of the NFL or any other league is trying to intentionally lose. I know it’s different but still

Just heard that Keegan is going to be reevaluated in two weeks. Good for the tank during this stretch of weaker competition.

With no lottery NFL is a different beast but it was closest thing. For sure team tanked, I don’t think 10 teams did though right?
The Grizzlies have only nine players available tonight, although that is a temporary situation.
Quite frankly the lottery in my opinion makes it worse. You have teams tanking late to get into the 7 - 5 slot that wouldn’t bother if no lottery existed. With no lottery NFL is a different beast but it was closest thing.
OKC did this for years and never got penalized.
Yeah that's what I meant, when it becomes clear that there are only 3-4 teams with a chance at #1 overall you don't see 10 teams throwing games. NFL also has the ability to turn things around in a single year and probably the roster size and contracts that can terminate easily have to do with that. On the flip side it seems due to all of that coaches and GMs get less time than other sports often do.Quite frankly the lottery in my opinion makes it worse. The CLips don't own their own draft pick. They are still going to try to win, even without Harden.Watch out for Memphis tanking and the Clips. That is 5 more games we have to navigate.
If they went back to even odds among the 14 lottery teams, would we still see that? I could see teams declining to go for the play in (as I believe Dallas did a couple years back) but the playoff ticket revenue would be too tempting to pass up. The risk would be that he 14th worst team gets the first pick, but it removes the incentive to lose among lottery teams. At this point, the weighted odds cure may be worse than the disease.Quite frankly the lottery in my opinion makes it worse. NBA needs to modify their rest rule to no more than 1 player per game, only applies for back to backs, and increase the fine for violating the rule. Pacers are able to game the rest policy since their 2 designated stars are Siakam and Hali. NBA didn’t change their “star” player in spite of Hali being out the whole year.OKC did this for years and never got penalized.
It's ridiculous for fans that pay tickets. Especially STH and people who are locked in to a certain date and then don't get to see the players they paid to see.NBA needs to modify their rest rule to no more than 1 player per game, only applies for back to backs, and increase the fine for violating the rule. Yes they will but Garland isn’t playing and their roster is depleted. The CLips don't own their own draft pick. They are still going to try to win, even without Harden.
