Classic Kings, unable to contend, yet equally unable to tank properly when needed, fighting for the 11th seed, the worst place possible.
Kings are 20 games under .500

This is great until you realize that Christie is trying to win games.27th best record in basketball at 8-28
30th in ORtg
27th in DRtg
30th in Net Rtg

Huh???Classic Kings, unable to contend, yet equally unable to tank properly when needed, fighting for the 11th seed, the worst place possible.
Pacers just doing what we should be doing no hate there.. Keegan would’ve been benched till March instead of coming back early if he played for Indiana
Does it even matter? It’s not like Keegan Murray is contributing at all to winning games. lol
May as well keep him out there and just hope to hope year 1 shooting magically comes back. I know we ask him to play defense now and it’s really hard to do both but we can hope and hope and hope.

Clippers win again.
Paolo is a worse defender and shooter than Keegan though? If Keegan sucks because he can’t shoot 3s then why does Paolo get a pass?He needs to be productive so we could ship him for Paolo if Orlando makes him available this summer
Clippers were never a threat for bottom three

The season is less than half over so we'll see how this all ends, but it's hard to argue that being tied for second worst record in the league to this point doesn't count as "properly tanking".
Paolo is a worse defender and shooter than Keegan though? If Keegan sucks because he can’t shoot 3s then why does Paolo get a pass?
Paolo is two years younger and has the potential to be a first option with career averages of
22-7-4 first options usually get passes unless there all time bad defensively like Luka. Keegan’s ceiling is a 3D guy who doesn’t provide the three for a half the season
Paolo is the same age as Kuminga who the front office apparently loves and the difference is Paolo has shown he could be a 1A guy already in the playoffs. You easily trade Keegan, Carter, and multiple firsts for him then build around Paolo and pure top five pick this year
The major issue with Paolo is he's gotten exposed for being legitimately one of the worst high volume shooters in the NBA. And there's all kinds of on/off stuff out there where the Magic have played better without him than with him.
My guess is the Magic would JUMP at the chance to get a rebuild package like that for him and move forward with Suggs/Bane/Black/Franz
And we should jump at Paolo considering the upside and his age if he doesn’t improve we have a 6’10 scoring wing. If he improves we have a legit number one player he went even with his flaws he showed up in the past two playoffs
If we get a top four pick with Paolo that would make us one of the up and coming teams imagine Paolo/AJ on the wing
If anybody is thinking about trading for Paolo at the deadline, we need to keep in mind that his extension kicks in next year so he is a "poison pill" contract and matching salary would be nearly impossible. I think we can safely put it down as impossible for us. Can't be done without like straight swapping rosters.I'd rather just get AJ and not spend the rest of our future draft capital on a guy owed another 240 mil over the next 5 years that doesn't impact winning.
And the point I was brining up is Paolo isn't a very good scoring wing. Statistically, he's one of the worst when you factor in USG, efficiency and shooting

Putting off the trade until closer to draft does absolutely nothing to help our cause when it comes to the "poison pill" aspect that Capt. mentioned in his post, though...trade would be around the draft after Orlando flames out of the playoffs and we have solidified a top 4 pick. Keegan, Carter, and 4-5 firsts two of the firsts coming from whatever team we trade Sabonis too (most likely Chicago)
JFC we're trading multiple firsts that we don't even have yet lol maybe we should keep the firsts.trade would be around the draft after Orlando flames out of the playoffs and we have solidified a top 4 pick. Keegan, Carter, and 4-5 firsts two of the firsts coming from whatever team we trade Sabonis too (most likely Chicago)
So you’d rather trade a 3-and-d guy that’s never been given a real chance to be a #1 or #2 option for a guy who plays worse D and also can’t shoot 3s and has proven to be an inefficient scorer as a #1 option just because he is 2 years younger?Paolo is two years younger and has the potential to be a first option with career averages of

And you’d even pay a small fortune to do it?
I just don’t see it making the Kings better. At least not enough to make it worth that trade.
After Keegan’s initial slump he actually shot around 38% from 3 the rest of the year and still many times he missed a 3 you’d see “what happened to his shot” comments in the game threads.
As Mark Jones said, this year Keegan has been playing through a laundry list of injuries and he is doing it while racking up top mileage, on a team where many guys look worse due to our awful coaching/playstyle/roster construction. Might have something to do with his shooting struggles.
He broke the rookie 3pt record and did it much more efficiently than the guy that had the record before him. Maybe he won’t be 40% again, but I feel confident he isn’t truly a 25% shooter either.
I’d rather keep Keegan and the picks and see what happens if we commit to developing young guys at some point
A trade that does not become official until July will use the subsequent year's cap values, so the poison pill provision would no longer be in play.Even if the trade is done for next season? The trades usually done at the draft don’t become offiacl till July
King should buy low onI'd rather just get AJ and not spend the rest of our future draft capital on a guy owed another 240 mil over the next 5 years that doesn't impact winning.

King should buy low onZionPaololatest random 6’8”/6’9” high volume chubby guy with serious flaws who has never really impacted winning at any level.
Serious flaws like Sabonis and Keegan lol people on here were calling Keegan prime Kawhi because he scored 20 points in back to back games when he came back but Paolo putting up 27-7-3 in the playoffs is nothing meanwhile Sabonis can’t get over 15 points on playoff games when his defender isn’t within 8 feet of him and he’s a top ten player
I get not wanting Zion cause of injury but still idiotic not to trade for him at his lowest but not wanting to go in on Paolo who is 23 is mind boggling
