Race to the Bottom thread

Even if Presti were available:

A. I don't trust that Vivek is competent enough to even think about going after Presti.
B. Even if Vivek shocks us all, and does actually pursue Presti, I don't think Presti is stupid enough to want to deal with such a level of incompetence from his owner.

I think if Presti left OKC, he'd want some form of team ownership or something crazy along those lines

Didn’t Vlade complain because Vivek kept checking his trades with Presti to see if they were good deals or not?

Well, according to Ham and others close to the team, Vivek hasn’t been hands on for a while now like people continue to assume. We’ll see!

Some people want to tank, some people don’t. There are several ways that folks define a rebuild or tank. A quarter way through the season I figured a dedicated thread was in order given the current standings, trade season and all that jazz.

I don't see the losing the KINGS are doing as tanking. Not even remotely.

They are just a BAD basketball team. They aren't sitting their starters and top players. The guys are mostly playing hard.

They are just bad fits with one another and not especially good regardless.

Quite honestly, this team is eerily similar to the TERRIBLE teams the KINGS had in the 80's and early 90's. They are actually trying to win but can't.

Did they bring "Airball One" out of retirement? 🤣

Two new contenders for the race to the bottom have entered the fold- Bulls and Blazers. Bulls East has been worse than Bulls West after their hot start. Will they make a splash move to right the ship or hope for internal growth? Blazers could turn things around if their point guards ever get back but they are also starting Sidy Sissoko for some reason.

I’m no fan of LaVine and don’t really care for DDR but it’s so funny seeing the Bulls suck again after seeing everyone joke about the Kings those first few weeks of the season. Gotta love the overreactions and popping of the champagne in the month of November LOL

I’m sure bulls fans would rather watch those two scrubs lead them to a 10th seed

Pacers can now get their head out of their hat and start acting like a finals team. Give Boston a call if they aren’t sure how to proceed.

So the Kings have remaining
4 games against the Clippers
3 games against the Pelicans
3 games against Portland

The Clippers and the Pels have 3 games remaining. Portland and Clippers have 3 and Portland and the Pels have 2.

We really need to lose both upcoming games to Portland. Let’s hope Domas stays glued to the bench along with Zach.

From what I read on here, if you want the Kings to lose, play Sabonis and LaVine.

Lavine is out a week and Sabonis hasn’t begun practicing hopefully these idiots don’t bring him back early like they did the first time which cost us a win vs Utah

Nawlins has won 4 in a row. Zion came off the bench tonight. If Dallas pulls the plug on the season by trading AD, the Pels might work their way back into the play in race.

Pacers have to start winning games at some point right they have talent on that team

3 wins in a row for the Clippers. Watched the second half of tonight’s game. They desperately need more scoring and shooting. Just do the deal for Lavine already.

Jazz won. Wizards won.

Have to wait for Zubac to return to match contracts with Collins

Team with Harden and Kawhi likely was never going to be that bad over the long-term. Never really considered them a true contender for bottom of the league.

Keyonte George is mid-breakout right now too, which is putting a damper on Utah's plan to keep being horrible.

NOP depends on how much they can keep Zion on the floor, but they also have 0 incentive to be bad. They'll keep trying to win games.

Think we'll ultimately be fighting Wash/Indy/BKN for bottom of the league.

As long as we finish in that bottom 4 we’re good. There’s not a ton of difference in odds from worst team to 4th worst.

We lose 4% chances and lose the likelyhood the backstop of getting Flemings as your worst case. You want to ideally be top 2 so your worst case is Flemings at 6.

This was a bad Woss

Eh. The Mavs are a 12-win team. You can't lin them all against the other bottom-feeders of the league. The Houston overtime win, on the other hand, was what I'd absolutely consider a bad woss, since an overwhelming share of backcourt minutes were going to DeRozan, Westbrook, and Schroder.
