I notice we have the number 10 pick in the 2007 Draft, but is it our only pick in the entire draft? I mean the Spurs have 3, Dallas has 4, Phoenix has 3, etc..

Did we mess-up on trades for picks?

Teams get two draft picks, a first round pick and a second round pick. Some teams have more because of trades. Our second round pick is going to Orlando. That pick started with us, we traded it to Utah with the Keon Clark trade in 2003, and Utah traded it to Orlando in their DeShawn Stevenson trade in 2004. I believe we also still owe Charlotte a 2nd Rounder for the Jason Hart trade.

You need to look where the picks are. Dallas has no first round pick but 3 second round picks. Most of these are because of previous trades that were made and I think our second round pick this year goes to Charlotte from the Jason Hart trade. Phoenix has their own pick and possibly Atlanta's pick from the Joe Johson trade and also another 1st round pick from a trade they made during last years draft.

I'm pretty sure we traded those picks to give away Keon, not get him. We signed him with the MLE, then paid Utah to take him off our hands. He played well that year, then fell off the map. I guess since he was out of the league by the end of the next year, it wasn't too bad losing him, but paying someone to take a player like that off your hands just leaves a sour taste in my mouth, IMO.
