PW: Some players on cruise control...

Well, let's connect the dots. Players that are involved in trade talks. Players that are cruising. Kevin Martin? Noc?

Maybe the players will cruise to another team and bring us back a defensive big or draft picks?

Has to be Kev and Noc he's talking about. The youth are eratic but they bring the energy every night...Even Hawes is finally stepping up.

Noc dog needs to go. Worst trade ever. Kevin as well. Always thought the guy was just empty points anyways.

I thought he was brutally honest about the situation and didn't name names.

Good interview considering all the loses and it shows that PW knows where he's going. No problem here, it'll work out. You don't usually go from doormat to contender in 40 games with new personell.

Westphal sucks, IMO. He's got all kinds of talent Theus and Natt didn't have yet he'll probably only get a handful more wins than they got.

Let's not be too dramatic here. The statement that the trade that brought Noc back was the wrost trade ever. Noc was one of the only players at the end of the year last season playing tough consistently.

He's made some big shots in games, and he always plays hard. Yes as of late his shot hasn't been falling, but his playing time has become very inconsistent as well.

I can name a trade off the top fo my head that was worth. A trade that brought back smaller more flexible pieces which is still affecting us until the trade deadline, or the end of this season. The Chris Webber trade.

The Chris Webber trade happened in 2005!!! A half decade ago!! Even if Noc was here for 4 years, which I don't think he will be, he'd be more useful that Kenny Thomas has been in the last 4 years.

Well, yeah, if they only win 2 or 3 more games the rest of the year. Guess you got us there.

If you can't see the difference in how this team is playing vs. how last year's team was playing, I don't know what to tell you.

I see how they're playing. I'm there most nights. 4 of our guys standing stone still while the 5th guy dribbles around on one side of the court and 4 of our guys gawking at the opposition walking to the rim on the other.

I'm sorry but I completely disagree with you. He doesn't suck. He doesn't have more talent on the team than his predessors and the talent he has has vastly less experience and consistency. But in our horrible win and loss situation Westphal is as good a one to blame as any.

I guess when they lose, lose, lose it looks like you describe but look again. On a team with only two NBA starters and the rest 8th graders this result is predictable. In the games we have lost there has been a lot of good Kings basketball played, just not nearly enough.

PW is getting less and less diplomatic...

Is it less and less diplomatic, or more and more truthful? He seems to be right on point about the Kings defense being soft in the middle and how it is obvious to all watching the game. I am glad he came right out and said it. The Kings are the softest team in the NBA in the middle. They have no post game and can not defend the post. They need a player via trade or free agency to come in and play defense in the Middle to cover the 7' sized hole in the middle of their defense. Hawes tries hard, but he is just too thin to win. He gets pushed out of the way too easily and scored on too easily. When your starting center is only averaging a measly 6 rebounds a game and he is 7'1", you have to wonder about why that is. He is just not strong enough to get those rebounds in traffic. He is rail thin and can't get shots up in traffic either because he gets bumped like all post players do and he misses the shot. He cant hold his ground because he is too lite and too weak in his lower body to keep other centers from dislodging him under the basket. Hawes is still a work in progress. The Kings need to bring in a veteran center who can bang underneath and get the rebounds and play the defense the Kings need to win games. Hawes is going to take a YEAR OR TWO to improve his overall strength to make him a better post player over the long run.

I'm not a big fan of Nocioni's, but I would never accuse him of being on cruise control. If anything he tries to do too much at times. Kevin, possiblly, and if I had to pick another it might be Beno, who hasn't been himself of late. Whoever himself is.

First off, if your there every night, then thanks for supporting the team. Secondly, if thats all you see, then your seeing just what you want to see. I'm not suggesting that what you described doesn't happen, but it doesn't happen every play of every game. There are times when the team moves the ball or scores on back door cuts. . I've seen Hawes make some beautiful passes to cutters. I've seen Tyreke drive and draw the double team and then dish to the open man. I've seen Sergio make some circus passes. I've seen Beno come of the pick and roll and shoot his little jumper from the left side of the key.

My point is that, yes, there has been some bad play. If there wern't, we would be winning more than were losing. But there has also been good play. Entertaining play. Plays that give me hope for the future. Its just going to take time. As I've said before. There aren't any short cuts. Unless of course you can find a way to get Lebron, Wade, and Bosh all to come here.

Yer gotdamned right I'm demanding of this team. I pay good money to watch them play basketball and I don't particularly care for what I've been seeing of late.

And just what did you expect? I mean realisticly. Did you expect this team to make the playoffs? I believe were the second youngest team in the NBA. And yes, this team has talent, but its raw talent and a couple of years away from putting everything together. To be honest, this team is playing just about how I expected them to. Inconsistant, with glimpses of what their capable of. In time the glimpse will turn into the norm.

In all honesty, did you go to the Spurs game expecting the Kings to win? Do you expect a team that won 17 games last year to beat the top teams in the league on a regular basis? If so, your setting yourself up for a lot of disappointments. The fact that they've taken some of the top teams down to the wire with a chance to win is more than admirable. And I'm not making excuses for them. I'm just being realistic. I mean you can set your standards as high as you want. But reality dictates what the outcome is going to be.
