Haha, please, Big Game James is so much better than Gump it's painful for me to even joke about it.
Did you see that Rodman quote this week about Worthy being the only guy he couldn't stop? I was watching Gm7 of 88, his triple double game, this week. Although Dennis was really young, Worthy was juking him every way in the paint. Too bad Riley wore Worthy and Scott into the ground or they wouldn't have eroded so much physically by the time Magic retired.

One more loss that does not worry me too much. Down the streach RA let the kids play and get experience against the Lakers starters and vets. It looks like RA has made the obvious choice to start SAR and I can assume/hope the Kenny will be taking lots of the min at the 3 that have been going to Garcia in preseason. I know there are some Garcia fans on the board that will take exception to this but I have to say that I just don't see the kid as ready for major min. While the bench has been proplematic in the past few games I am encouraged by what the logical 8-9 man roataion could/should look like. Assuming Reef starts that makes Kenny #6 at the 3 and 4, Skinner (#7) has been great and I actually LIKE the idea of him taking big min at the 5, despite a rough showing on his return from injury Hart (#8) has been a tough defender and accpetable play maker and Martin (#9) is much improved and seems ready for time at the 2 bringing in good offense and contenued rebounding, he is no DC on defense but he is quick and stays in front of his man prety darn well.

Couldn't have said it better myself

I have never seen a player turn the ball over 5 times in 5 minutes as Francisco Garcia did against the Lakers. Having said that, Garcia is a better player than K-Mart. Invest now, as RA will do, in the form of steady PT, and the payoff will happen soon. The mistakes Garcia makes are mistakes out of aggression. K-Mart will never help a team win at a high level. He's not a ballhandler, a shooter, a one-on-one player. He's passive, he drifts away from the ball. He's not even a good one-on-one defender. He has quick feet, and opportunistic in the passing lanes, makes a play only when the defense is paying no attention to him.....but he will be outmuscled and overmatched on most nights. He will relegated to garbage minutes soon, just watch. And his personality works against him too: he is basically content to wear an NBA uniform, and collect his paycheck, and just happy to be in front of a TV camera. He is way too preoccupied with trying to look cool, act cool, stay cool....winning is a secondary concern. Now that the season is here, and the games count for real, K-Mart will be exposed as a lightweight.....don't take my word for it. Just wait and see.

Right now I think our biggest question is depth. I think our starting five is going to be great, with time: Bibby and Bonzi, Peja SAR and Miller. First off the bench: Skinner, KT and Jason Hart. There is no consistent scoring threat in this group. If KT shot is off, then we have no bench scoring. KT can usually be counted on at Arco, but he is shakey on the road. And any scoring from Hart and Skinner are bonus points. (Skinner did look great in pre-season, but he is not exactly a reliable go-to option.) If we go deeper to the bench with Big Nasty, Garcia and K-Mart, these guys may have it one night, and another night give us nothing, especially against quality opponents. If our bench does not give us decent minutes against the Rockets next week, we will be down 15 points by half-time. The Rockets have the same quickness as the Lakers that gave us fits.

Anyway....enough armchair analysis....let the season begin!!!
You may be right, I don't agree in your assessment, but at this point, Kevin is a far more efficient player. He shot in the mid 40's percentage wise in the preseason, while Garcia shot in the 30's.

i think martin has a better chance of squeezing into adelman's rotation. part of it is because he's had more experience under adelman. he knows what's expected of him, and if he can stay under control, he's relatively effective and a great hustle player. i think garcia will eventually be the superior defender, but right now he's still getting accustomed to the nba. he did a solid job on kobe the other night, given what he was up against. he's a terrific shooter as well, and when he shoots within the context of the offense, he's very effective. but right now, garcia is basically raw talent. adelman and co. will channel that talent and turn it into something useful to the kings. kevin martin seems to be getting his nba legs. he's got a ways to go, but right now i think he's the most likely of the two to receive significant minutes on a consistent basis.

Gargamel, Vujacic was running circles around Bibby. He was not slow. I don't know what you were watching, but he was moving quite well.
I have never seen him play overseas, but the best I've seen Sasha look in the NBA I think.

Sasha is quick, but one scrappy stint doesn't mean much unless he does it consistently in general.

Watch out for that Vujacic. ;)

I've never seen them so I have two questions:

1)why the hell do we have gold jerseys

2)how do they look?
1. They're the new alternates announced in Spring 2005, were unveiled in early October. They'll be worn 14 times this season.

2. I like them, they're unique and flashy. Thankfully they're not like the Lakers version of "gold" as I hoped, when that is more cheese yellow.

They're women's lingerie. If Bonzi grew boobs he could be Lisa Leslie in that picture.

Pimps dress "flashy". So do showgirls. Or Laker Girls. If we're going to wear shiny silk, let's at least do it in our own colors.

Damn you sure know a lot about K-Mart, from what he is thinking to how his true goals are.

I agree that Garcia is better than Martin (has a more complete to his game, went to a bigger program school, has international experience, is a year more mature) but that last post was rubbing it in, kicking a man while he is down, beating a dead horse.

Your last couple posts on Martin have gone from biased criticism to boderline ludicrous. ''He (Kevin Martin) is way too preoccupied with trying to look cool, act cool, stay cool....winning is a secondary concern'' how could you know such a thing? Is it from the TV interviews? How he carries himself on the court? I'm not seeing it, but that's my take, and like yours it's just an opinion.
Damn Mad D, when you quote stuff from people I have on Ignore, I can't ignore them anymore. Now I had to read his drivel and I want my 30 seconds back.

My problem with the unis is style, not color or material. Why not something tailored or fitted. I am not asking for any John Stockton stuff, but maybe some Cutino Mobley flare.

My impression of that is very simple: no matter how much money you have, no matter how stupidly rich you are, that is just a flat out waste of money and you are a shallow moron if you dish it out to stay in a room for a night. Take your $50,000, fly out to New Orleans, and hand it to somebody who just lost everything they ever owned. Unless you are shallow beyond comprehension, you will get more out of it, ans so will they.
agree wholeheartedly
