This is the second game in a row in which IT has made big defensive plays on the "star" point guard. In the GS game he got into Curry, stole the ball, and then got tackled and followed it up with two made free throws. In the Clipps game he ran around a double screen set for a set-up play to Paul, got into Paul's grill, pressuring Paul into throwing the ball away to Salmons, who threw it to Thornton for a layup and a 3 pt. play (Paul compounded his failure by fouling Thornton).
People are sleeping on PPat. I really like this guy. That 3 point shot was the back-breaker in this game. His defense on Griffin was outstanding. He's doing the little things that help you win. In the GS game he was the guy who on the very last play came from nowhere to tip the ball and keep it alive , allowing McLemore to get the ball, and then finally leading to the Salmons game winning shot. He's also showing an inside game that I've never seen before. A running hook shot? That's a new one. This guy is a blue collar keeper.
